Description
Try as they might, the city's shiny, new pubs just cannot beat the Dry Dock in the originality stakes. The pub enjoys a surreal location on a boat that is moored on a traffic island in the middle of Leeds but it works. Although it has been running for a few years, people never seem to tire of the Dry Dock and it's always jam-packed with a healthy mix of students, office workers and shoppers. It's best to come here on a sunny day when you can sit on deck with a cool drink and watch the world sail by.
There you go, Becky, helping you with your research!;)Gt NW 1/2 Marathon 21/2/2010 (Target=1:22:59) (6:20/mile) 1:22:47 (6:19):j:j

Yeah I wont be able to stay Sunday night - but I will leave you ladies with a list of bars to check out

Anything in particular you lot like, so far I have:
1. Does woo woos (or any cocktails)
2. Near a travelodge
3. Not overpriced - so I was thinking somewhere in student areas
I don't think we're all that fussy, we're mostly mums, so we're just happy to be on a night out!!!I'm just a seething mass of contradictions....(it's part of my charm!)0 -

North Bar is probably a bit pricey, being not very far from Harvey Nicks and Victoria Quarter, but I don't know.Gt NW 1/2 Marathon 21/2/2010 (Target=1:22:59) (6:20/mile) 1:22:47 (6:19):j:j

I used to drink in the Dry Dock - very bizarre place, but I used to love it.

Ah okay I can do the real lot of that on my doorstep if I want - skip North Bar then!
I'll mine the mates for some more bars they went to when students...0 -

Make sure they're in the centre, because most student drinking is in Headingley.
Most students at Leeds Met use Weatherspoons though, everything else won't fit into their 'grants/loans'. It is expensive in Leeds!Gt NW 1/2 Marathon 21/2/2010 (Target=1:22:59) (6:20/mile) 1:22:47 (6:19):j:j

Walking Cuts Cravings For Chocolate
WALKING for just 15 minutes can reduce chocolate cravings, researchers have discovered.
It is the first time a study has shown that exercise can reduce the desire for food.
Following three days of abstinence, researchers at Exeter university asked 25 regular chocolate eaters to take a brisk 15-minute walk or to rest.
They then engaged in tasks that would normally induce chocolate cravings, including a mental challenge and opening a chocolate bar.
After exercise, participants reported lower cravings than after a rest – and for at least 10 minutes following that. Professor Adrian Taylor, who carried out the study, said: “Our work consistently shows that brief bouts of physical activity reduce cigarette cravings.
“But this is the first study to link exercise to reduced chocolate cravings.
“This could be good news for people who struggle to manage their cravings for sugary snacks and want to lose weight.”
Previous research has suggested that 97 per cent of women and 68 per cent of men experience food cravings. The new research is published online in the journal Appetite.
Professor Taylor said: “While enjoying the occasional chocolate bar is fine, in time regular eating may lead to stronger cravings during stress and when chocolate is readily available.
“Recognising what causes us to eat high energy snacks, even if we have plans to not do so, can be helpful.Gt NW 1/2 Marathon 21/2/2010 (Target=1:22:59) (6:20/mile) 1:22:47 (6:19):j:j
