Thanks Hypno & redsquirrel. The best thing about this morning was how much I enjoyed it (which was much more than I expected).

Rich the plan is certainly coming together isn't it? When you keep a detailed record you can readily see the impact on your fitness. Fantastic work! Have you lost the weight just as a result of the running or have you been eating more healthily as well? Whichever, it is a great result.

My mum asked me what I want for my birthday, and I have asked for money towards a heart rate monitor - hoping that it will encourage me not to set off too fast. Then I can put lots of stats in my posts too :D

Well done rich - that is a fantastic improvement over a relatively short space of time :T I am impressed :T

You're right keeping records is the way to make life easy for yourself. The facts often tell a different story to how things feel.

Weight loss comes from 3 sources - 1.The actual running (approx 12lbs), 2. Increased metabolism for 4-6 hours after each run (approx 4lbs), 3. Decreased calorific intake due to appetite changes (approx 10lbs).

But basically the body just sorts itself out- by keeping all the work at low pulse rates the fat burning ratio increases dramatically.

I need my fat burning ratio to increase dramatically.

......or maybe I just need to stop eating so much chocolate

    Well done rich!

Sorry a bit late to the party been out running this evening with a friend and then tucked into far too much food - I actually might be sick - its really unlike me to go that mad but I seemed to have lost my 'off' switch today! Ah well...it'll go down soon no doubt!

Oh your proper training program starts tomorrow Rich - do you think you target time is achievable for March?

Well, its a case of getting the work done and seeing what comes out the other end - just like feeding meat into a sausage machine really. (sorry, was that cruel bringing a food analogy in?:p).

But to answer your question - yep, everything is on track so far, the main aim has to be to stay uninjured and the rest should, hopefully, fall into place.

Well done Hobsch - another successful week.

You're getting a little stronger, and able to take on a little more work, as each week goes by. Keep it going and you'll get there.

    Good work Hobsch.
