Well done snaggles.....running in the face of adversity :D

A rest day for me today - I am aiming to run again with P tomorrow evening. My thigh muscles are a little stiff today but not too bad, so hopefully they are getting used to this extra work!

Morning all - did my hill run today in the dark in hyde park - ooo it was fun running down them all afterwards :)

Managed to do 6 instead of 4 though because I have to get to he park and ended up getting lost (even though it was light by then ;))...it was good fun though - you can definitely tell it works different muscles though - I bet I'm going to be stiff tomorrow!

Have good runs everyone - enjoy your rest day Hypno!

    Morning

Hehehe, running in the face of adversity....I like that! Might be a slight exaggeration but I'm sticking with it. :D

Sammy - I still haven't quite got around to buying a sports bra (do I really have to? They're not very flattering are they? :o) but I have a couple that are good for running in. This one however has straps that are basically ribbons, so I think I spent half the run pulling it back onto my shoulders.

Oh well, you live and learn!

Invest in a good sports bra, snaggles. I turned up to run with P yesterday without one, so ended up buying a new one at £35  from the sports centre. But I am glad I did - I am not exactly "large" up there, but it is a definite MUST HAVE accessory - and flattering is not what this is all about!!!

*TMI ALERT* but I don't seem to generate a lot of 'bounce'... :rotfl:

Maybe it's just because I don't run very far or very fast yet!

£35 though - ouch!!! But not as 'ouch' as pain in that area, so probably a good investment.

Get to Asda - they are £4!!! Or £6 if you get the good one!

Cant complain at that and they are very supportive - I would never run without one and I'm *ahem* an A cup!

Blimey becky, I thought I did my run early today - but you were back before I'd left! - I left arount 8:05 for mine, did the new "hilly" 10k route, which was pretty good fun, but turned out only to be 5.9 miles according to the Garmin - oh well, it was good anyway.

There's lots of kids on bikes around that time in the morning, all off to school, I guess...and all over the pavements. *So* tempting just to drop a shoulder and knock them off, especially the ones that don't move over for you...but I didn't do this once! I count that as a victory in self control :D

Anyway, was quite pleased I got round - I have *no* energy in the mornings - plus, it was by far the coldest I've run in, the first time I've worn 2 base layers, it was hilly etc - so I was quite pleased just to finish the route. Did it in 52 minutes something, so not exactly setting the roads alight, but still quite pleased.

My calves def. feel more sore than normal now - I guess down to the hills - and my biceps are a little sore after weights the last couple of nights. I hope all these building muscles account for the 2lbs I've put on the last couple of days and that it isn't just some kind of delayed response to my illness break...

    Hi Idio,

In terms of weight - I think after excercise your muscles can weigh 20% more so make sure you're only weighing yourself once a week to take account of variations etc...

Well done on the hill run today! Yes I got up at 6am and left at 6.15! Was back at 7.30 so a very slow run for me (although I walked the last half mile - not inlcuded in the 6)...but the hills were hard work!

Your run is sooo hilly though - that graph yesterday was very scary! Well done for getting out and giving it a go - do you think you'll be able to keep at that once a week?

Snags - I am ashamed to say I don't have a sports bra either, someone kindly gave me a sports bra type top thingy.....like a crop top...IYSWIM

At the time I wasn't sure i would really stick at it so I suppose I will have to get meself off to asda for a £4 sports bra...I am a D cup and have just done a personal training in an old C cup bra - so I had four boobs, AND i was bouncing all the over the place - it was most offputting.....:rotfl:

I went to do the training on a bit of a downer, but I feel great now!
