Afternoon everyone - well done to everyone who ran, especially the angry runners, I can relate to that
Has a massively busy day so far, went running at 8am alone, did a really nice 3 mile run, took me just over half an hour but I was running alone and it was very hilly  Also got chased by some ducks.....that was nice.
Then home to argumentsDid some match betting last night and backed a team, DS got upset in bed and DH couldn't settle him so I left with strict instructions on how to lay the bet and went to settle DS - he only went and bloody backed it instead of laying it  Then the computer crashed, so left it until this morning, and spent about an hour rectifying it . Of course he assures me it's all my fault - hmmmmm
Have been off to the local ante natal clinic as well, me and friend hire out birthing pools as a side business and we were invited along, quite a lot of people took leaflets so with any luck we will get some phonecalls soon (here's hoping).
Am now being awful parent - DH gone out, I have kids and need a lie down, so I have given them a Mars bar and the Narnia DVD - working so far.....
Have a lovely day and good luck to everyone who is running tomorrow :T0 -
Hi folks - sorry I've not been around. Life got in the way a bit.
My 10,000 steps has been shabby all week, although I've managed it today (Phew! I can almost feel proud of myself!). I'll be out again in the morning to do it all again, and, circumstances permitting, I've got three dance classes lined up for next week. I'm hoping it will take my mind of other stuff at the moment - I had to have some tests at the docs this week so fingers crossed all is well. And if it isn't, I'll just reach for my lipstick and keep smiling!
Hope you're all having an active weekend. I'm off to do some debt-busting stuff. What if the hokey cokey is what it's all about? :eek:Official "Bring back Mark and Lard NOW! or else (please)" Member 160 -

Well done on your steps, sounds loads, did you have to make an effort to do that many or did it kind of just work into your normal routine?
Have fun with the dance classes as well.
As for the ducks, it was scary in a comical way, they were cackling and running, I ran harder but then nearly tripped over a rabbit that was running about :rotfl: honestly!! I was on a nature trail but I didn't think the nature really existed there. Wasn't as bad as the sheep that was interested in my friend the other week though :rolleyes:0 -

Steps are easy - I've got a lot going on at the moment and walking helps to clear my head a bit. I don't even notice how far I've gone and I must have been out for two hours this morning!
If I walk to work it takes 45 minutes and I can easily clock up 5,000. So it is possible to fit the steps into the daily routine. Rain permitting!
No sheep or ducks to interfere round these parts either! :j:eek: What if the hokey cokey is what it's all about? :eek:Official "Bring back Mark and Lard NOW! or else (please)" Member 160 -
Afternoon running people :j How's everyone? SW - how did the 10 miles go? and Evab - was it today you were running? MS - glad to hear the steps are going well, and I hope everything goes OK with the tests.
I'm being a lazy sod today - went to friend's last night and they fed me (lots), filled me full of wine and gave me a lift back today so I've hardly walked a step, feel like a big lazy blob but a considerably calmer more chilled out one than yesterday... am sitting on the sofa with my tummy hanging out trying to decide what film to watch this afternoon
As a follow on from my shopping list, I decided to try and do some meal planning again to think of some ideas and see if the food really will last a fortnight, probably won't stick to the days though! It's looking something like the following for lunch and dinner each day (including the ones I've already had!)...
Friday - Lunch: salad / Dinner: pork chop with roasted potatoes, green pepper, fennel, garlic and rosemary.
Saturday - salad of peppers, radishes, fennel and lots of herbs, with some cubes of cheddar, served with bread / chinese at friends
Sunday - Minty couscous salad / Chicken curry (using two of the thighs, hopefully get 3 portions and freeze 2) & rice
Monday - Rice salad with leftover rice from Sun night / Spanish omelette
Tuesday - Quiche & salad (put half of quiche in freezer for next week)/ Sardines, new potatoes & veg
Wednesday - Quiche & salad/ veggie pasta
Thursday - Leftover pasta/ Curry from freezer
Friday - Probably treat myself to lunch at work / poss out at night so something quick like sardines on toast or cheese on toast
Sat/ Sun/ Mon at parents
Tuesday - Some sort of salad/ chicken with roasted potatoes & veg
Wednesday - Quiche & salad / something involving eggs!
Thursday - Pasta (make while cooking Weds dinner) / chicken curry or something else with other bit of chicken
Friday - Quiche & salad (do you think I'll be sick of quiche by then?) / and then... I can go shopping again!!

Hi there Red, glad you have a nice night, lovely when other people feed you!
Menu planner sounds good - I feel I have triumphed today. Went to Aldis and didn't have £1 coin for trolley, , so I decided to go and see how well I could do at Tescos. Got everything on my list bar the cereals, juice, salmon from Tescos - stuck meticulously to value - got fantastic massive bags of pasta for £1 :j , price checked everything and got everything cheap and spent £44 :j :j .
Then, went to Aldis, got the juice and salmon that the kids like. Then off to Co-op as they had BOGOF on cereal, got 8 lots of Kellogs cereal for £5!!! Will last us ages. So my total shop for the week is £53 :T
Am going to be very, very, very sad now and compare Aldis and Tescos receipts on different things to see which is cheaper and shop there accordingly.
I was gone about 90 mins shopping though as I was so busy being frugal DH thought I'd got lost :rotfl:
I'm doing a 70 min run tonight, but just chilling until then.
Good luck everyone who is running today :beer:0 -
Hi all,
Well i survived the Race for All 10Km race in Leeds this morning. I did it in 62 mins - not bad i know but a little disapointed i missed the sub-hour mark  .
It was lovely weather - not too hot but sunny. Busy course though - i'm sure weaving in and out of people adds another mile on!!!
How did everyone elses day go?0
