OK, you did ask.. just been shopping, evil Tesco land was half price heaven today :D Hoping this lot will last me nearly a fortnight (am at parents' for three days next weekend which will help!) with only a few extra bits of fruit, veg, etc. Breakfast is pretty much always toast as I can't face much else in the morning. So here's what I bought today and roughly what I plan to do with it, obviously all the meals involve adding pasta/ potatoes/ rice/ couscous (have last two in cupboard already) and veg or salad to the meat/ fish/ eggs, will also have some meals which involve just pasta/rice/potatoes/cousous with veg and cheese - currently love just roasting potatoes and a load of veg with garlic and spices, chuck some cheese in for the last few mins till it melts then mix it all up.. yum...

4 chicken thighs, British organic - reduced - £1.45 (4 meals, possibly more if I make some into curry or casserole)
    1 pork chop, British organic - reduced - 76p (1 meal)
    6 eggs - 54p (3 meals)
    3 tins sardines - £1.05 (3 meals)
    1 quiche - £1.00 (3-4 meals with salad)
    400g Cathedral City cheddar - half price - £1.53 (should last 2 weeks, probably won't :D)
Large tub light soft cheese - 57p (use in creamy pasta sauce, on toast, on home made scones, probably last a week)
3kg pasta - £1.00 (I don't know where the hell I'm going to put this :rotfl:should last all month I reckon)
    Olive oil - £1.05
Milk - 35p (don't use much of this, just in coffee and scrambled eggs/ omelettes, probably need some more next week)
4 value yoghurts - 29p (usually afternoon snack at work or dessert, will need another pack next week)
    Butter - 53p
    2 onions - 24p
    750g organic potatoes - 95p
2 packs cherry tomatoes - reduced - 98p (will have some in salads over next couple of days and rest will be made into pasta sauce and frozen before they go off)
Pack of radishes - 28p (for salads)
Fennel - 60p (dunno what I'm going to do with this yet, but love it)
    3 peppers - £1.29
    2 garlic - 40p
    Lemon - 19p
    Lime - 15p
9 bananas - 76p (have one most days, will need to get some more towards end of the fortnight)
    8 apples - 89p (as above)
Fresh rosemary - 55p (cos it was reduced and I had voucher for extra points on herbs)
    Bread - 28p
Bottle of Calloway Sauvignon/ Shiraz/ Something like that - reduced - £3.49 (will be making me ramble on here later I expect! :o)

Total £21.17 and got 237 Clubcard points through using double/ extra points vouchers :j Nearly killed me carrying it all home though....

Hope that's of some use to someone.. the 'Feed 2 for as little as possible' thread on Old Style is good for ideas as well, I've put a few costed recipes on there.

Is it too early to open the wine...?

    Wow!!

I might just have to copy your list and then your recipes for the whole week  I only need to buy 5 thinks from Tescos and it costs £20

I have done my menu this week and it is:
Sat - Pizza, Salad, home made fries
Sun - Spinach Risotto - found some risotto rice so thought I'd use it
Mon - Jacket Potato and Salmon
    Tues - Pasta and Sauce
Weds - Spinach Lasagne - have found frozen spinach ...can you tell :D
Thurs - Quiche, New Potatoes and Peas
Fri - Spanish Omelette and Rice salad

I have done my list but cannot see how I will spend less than £40 - if I come and pick you up could you come to my house for a week and sort me out - I have wine ;)

OK, as long as you can teach me how not to waste all the money I save by doing good shopping on.. god knows what! ;)

Your menus sound great, I love spinach, think I'll put that on the list for next shop! I don't usually plan in advance cos I seem to rebel against it and go 'hmmph don't want that tonight'. Tonight I had the pork chop with roasted potatoes, green pepper, fennel, garlic and rosemary. And wine of course.. and for some reason after a couple of glasses, I decided it was a good time to dye my hair, erm yeah great idea after having scrubbed the bathroom this afternoon :rotfl:Anyway, I seem to have survived without too much mess and my hair is a rather nice, er, red wine colour actually! :)

Been for a run this evening. 2 miles again. Did it 2 1/2 minutes quicker than the other morning! Last one before tuesdays race for life.

Pania - thanks I'll find out about matched betting.

On the shopping front I disccovered that if you put "tesco value" inot the search bit on tesco online shopping you get a list of all the value stuff! Makes the online shop easy but I'm still spending way too much on food shopping.

Well done Kazl, I'm sure you'll be brilliant on Tuesday :T

I don't do online shopping but it's handy for checking prices before I actually go if I want to buy something I haven't had before.

Just been for an 'angry' run (are we a particularly argumentative lot or what?).. couldn't tell you how far or how long, just ran... still p*ssed off though so I think the rest of the wine from last night is calling...
