Hi Snaggles, I have asthma too and always find that when near to water it's a lot colder and that in itself takes my breath, enough to make me need the blue inhaler. I assume you keep yours with you? Don't worry, I can't boast about doing so as all too often I forget. :o

Good luck with finding somewhere dryer, it'll certainly help you.

    Sue
Thanks - I was hoping someone might be able to shed some light on it - yes, it's quite cold there, and windy too, so that's probably it. I always take my inhaler, but it's annoying either trying to take it whilst running, or stopping to take it!

Can we hold you to that? I hope so. My doc won't let me out of the surgery without showing him what things are like with the nebuliser. You owe it to you Snaggles and it'll make your running a whole lot easier.

    All the best.

  • yes thank you very much..... so arm movement is a comfort thing... and not wholly necessary?

What's the significance of sub 10k and arm use? You said "very little in terms of propulsion for 10K+. "

Its just that in 100m races arms provide a significant percentage of propulsion, then this drops as distances increase to the point where theres virtually no role for arms in propulsion in a marathon.

You'd be better off taking them off and leaving them at home tbh! :p
