    Hi Rich,

Sorry to hear you get abuse!

I have a place via a Charity (Asthma UK) so am a definite.
I would say I should be about 12 stone, thats a stone to lose really - its mainly around my stomach and boobs (man boobs).
For the half Marathons I took 2hrs 5mins and then 2hrs and 31secs. I so wanted to break 2 hours. For those I did a couple of runs a week of about 5 miles but I used to be a lot fitter and played football etc.

Snaggles 10lb in 3 weeks is amazing, nice one. Maz nice one on your run too and Jinky, I think you've got the runnign bug now... :p

Well I'm going exercise crazy now (sorry Steve but resting is not happening!). Did the 10K in Swansea on Sunday, did a longish run of 6miles on Wed and am off tonight to do interval training for an hour followed by an hour of dance traning. Got spin class and weight training tomorrow morning so that should all keep me out of trouble :rotfl:

Ooh the photos for the Swansea run are quite funny, luckily they didn't manage to catch me hoping up and and down with crossed legs! If anyone is interested they are on marathon-photos.com and I was number 891

Entered a 5K 'fun' run on Sunday as well so will see how that goes. Am determined to shift the extra pounds I seem to be carrying around (can't be helping!)so it's a concerted effort on the diet as well.

Right off to don my trainers...

Oh crumbs...never actually looked at that before...might be missing something, but it doesn't look a patch on .com....

eta: I always thought they were the same tbh...

Don't worry about the abuse, its all playful (I think :p!).

Ok, so only a stone excess. That will soon go.

So the question is what do you want to achieve in LM09- to get round or a rough time target?

And, as I say, how much time is available for training?

I can put you a program together for either aim and then you can come back and say you want to amend a couple of things etc. But you don't want to go into a marathon unprepared if you can avoid it, far better to enjoy the day after a solid cautious build up rather than suffer on the day due to a haphazard build up.

Thanks - forgot the time available.

I have 3 evenings in the week available and time on the weekends.

I know you cant just say its double or anything as easy as that but as I took roughly 2hrs for half marathon I would like to think I could get 4hrs. However as I was unprepared for those I would love to better 4hrs but wanted to see how the training went. If you have any ideas for this would be greatly appreciated.

    Hi Poodle,

You're like Donna smiling on the photos. Do you check where the camera positions are before the race? :p (And I'm sure that wet trail behind you will airbrush out ;)).

But it does look like a controlled running style, a natural runner by the looks!

Lol, that's why I haven't put my bib # up on here...in my photos you can tell, I'm the exact opposite of "controlled running" :D

So 5 days per week in reality. Ideal.

We can translate a 2hours half marathon on 2 sessions per week to less than a 4 hours marathon on 5 sessions per week. We will close in on an accurate marathon timing estimate as we go along.

But thats enough for me to outline a plan, which I'll do by tomorrow and then you can see whether it feels comfortable and, if not, we can adjust. By the way, I do everything with loads of caution, taking things very easily so don't worry about being thrown into something you can't handle - it doesn't work like that.
