The plan today was another 10k run if the effects of Friday's run had worked themselves out or, alternatively, an 8-mile walk if not.

An 8 mile walk it was!

Can I ask a question about running shoes please?

I have two pairs of trainers, one of which I'm pretty certain is not specifically for running, but one which I think might be. Is there an easy way to tell?

(sorry if that's a really silly thing to ask - I just don't want to spend money on something I might already have :o)

I'm going to let someone else answer this one cos my advice on running shoes is a little unconventional in that if they're comfy, they'll do!

Snaggles do they feel like your feet are being supported well and there is lots of cushion when you run?? Any idea what make and model they are?? Also worth getting some sorbatol (sp) rich will tell you what you need. You will probably need to invest in some new proper running shoes at some point and you should get a gait analysis done to make sure you get the right trainers

It was very pleasant, although I really don't mind any weather conditions except very strong winds. But at 2hrs 20minutes you can see why I won't be spending any more time on training at 70 miles per week of running than I am at the moment on this basic fitness phase.

Yeah 2 hrs 20 is a good old chunk of the day. I would be more than happy to do that distance/time of walk if only I could get DD to walk too....think 8 miles may still be a little too long for her little legs at 3 yrs old (she is showing interest at coming running with mummy so trying to encourage that :D )
