Wow, that was quick! Thanks for such a swift welcome LOM.
As it is Thursday running is obviously on my mind. I sometimes lose motivation because I have to plan my runs so well. For example, tonight I will get home from work at about 5.30pm-ish, maybe a little later. My DS (13) will be waiting for his tea, so I have taken meat out of the freezer and will throw a jar of ragu in with it and boil the pasta in a pan so he can eat at a reasonable hour. I will be out of the house at about 6.45pm to meet up with the ladies to run. I can either run for 60 or 90 mins as that is the time each group runs for. My OH works away during the week, so DS is on his own during this time, but he is a sensible lad.
I'm not moaning, but it does make my training more of an effort and I can't just go out 'on spec'. Anybody else have to plan their runs?
I'm pretty much free to run when I want, except I'm very busy at the moment with my wedding coming up. Plenty of mums on here like Maz and Sally that still manage to schedule it in, they're the real heros*!
*for God's sake, don't well up again Maz!

hi chickadee... please you can call me Maz...!
yep there are a few mums on the run here, sally, snaggles, donner kebab and me to name a few... we fully understand where the struggles come in, especially now it is dark so early! (why does this come as a big shock every year!!??)
I'm lucky cause my OH is relatively well house trained and is okay (i won't say supportive as that inplies he's happy with it) to watch DD Erin (7yo) for longer on my running and swimming sessions straight from work.
I have just recently joined a running group after very sporadic running history of last 4 years, training for RFL each year and then not bothering thereafter sums it up!
by joining the club i hope to force myself out at least once a week with club and once with runchum on weekend daytime. In the hope to stay focused over the winter and maintain at least a 5k distance... really i ain't built to run, so it's an achievement just doing it!
beinerts, you are so kind! no tears today but it's nice to be acknowledged!!I'm just a seething mass of contradictions....(it's part of my charm!)0 -

And anyway you should take a leaf out of Snaggles book and learn how to rest without feeling guilty or thinking you're going to be unfit through having a few days off.

Ok point taken oh Fitness Master Guru God. Im going to skip my run tomorrow and see how I feel over the weekend. Actually I feel better this afternoon so maybe my super white cells are fighting back. Oh and the legs are completely fine too.
As for the chocolate I haven't had any today. I had to pop into town but ended up buying some dry banana (there was this little Rich sat on my shoulder telling me not to get chocolate!;) )I'll make a wish, take a chance, make a change And breakaway. You're just like Maz in accusing me of backchat whilst being a somewhat professional exponent of the art yourself.Gt NW 1/2 Marathon 21/2/2010 (Target=1:22:59) (6:20/mile) 1:22:47 (6:19):j:j

Mascot Pep talk:p
My husband didn't like to make a fuss and was sure it would go away and ended up with chronic septacaemia and nearly never made it to our wedding... (a few more days and he might not have made his 30th birthday)
Please don't put off the visit to the doctor...
Thanks Lucifa73, you are quite right and I am in the process of getting it looked at.
Thanks for the 'Mascot Pep Talk' also.
Also thanks to Redsquirrel for the welcome and the same goes to anybody else I may have been remiss in mentioning.
Off now to read the previous mentioned thread that since has our names related to it. (I think that makes sense)0
