  • It's a strange thought that by the time I do these, since I'm aiming for the marathon at the end of May, a half marathon should be relatively, dare I say it.. easy

    Easy at the right pace!

Certainly in terms of distance when you're ready to do a marathon you could do 3 half marathons a week in training without really struggling. Its amazing how the body adapts!

    Urrrrgghhhh..... I'm soooo ill.......got bird flu. :(

Should I still be trying to run? I'm managing 10 minutes now without stopping but feel like I couldn't even run upstairs just now! :o

When do they announce the dates for Race for Life, anyone know? I would really like to do that. My Gran died of cancer, so did my FIL, and my sister had it when she was a young teenager, so there would be lots of motivation I think. I seem to think it was about May-time last year at Temple Newsham? Anyone else going to be doing Race for Life in the Leeds area?

You're in - I think you kinda got sort of nudged in there anyway! :p

More marathon experience can only help when we have so many keen people looking at doing first-time marathons!

Thanks pania, you are right, I really do want to keep going.

I have not had the knee looked at, unfortunately I am one of those who do not want to make a fuss and foolishly believe that things might go away.
In fact, until I sat and typed these notes, I found it difficult to explain the problem. I am going to the doctors in the next week or so.

Your words have helped especially, recalling the event, the piece you type about hyper extending the joint, thank you

My husband didn't like to make a fuss and was sure it would go away and ended up with chronic septacaemia and nearly never made it to our wedding... (a few more days and he might not have made his 30th birthday)

Please don't put off the visit to the doctor...

When you say you've got stamina for things you like doing are you trying to tell us you can gab for England? ;)
