    Sally,

The key to not wanting to eat chocolate (which gives a quick blood sugar high but quickly followed by a low meaning you want more) is to eat slow releasing blood sugars.

Muesli is ideal for this purpose with lots of yummy raisins/sultanas and fruit.
Try eating muesli whenever you get an urge for chocolate, put lots of fruit in it, grapes, banana whatever and you'll be amazed how you just don't get the urge for chocolate any more because you don't need the blood sugar.

I bet you say you don't like muesli!! :p

Rich Im not keen on the floury type musesli but I love the oaty crunchy jordans type stuff. I also make my own granola with loads of dry fruit which I love. Basically I just have no control..well thats not true I go from one extreme to the other.
I'll make a wish, take a chance, make a change And breakaway. I'll take a risk, take a chance, make a change and breakaway ....

Are you bit of a chocolate fiend then, Sally? Or just body chocolate? ;)

I noticed the walking thread had emerged, but they're hardly competing activities. I do more walking than running at the moment so its all good. Anything which encourages walking is a good move!

Where's that Maz? She must be due to bring her beaming little face in about this time!

PS Just got a medal. What was that for? 750 posts? Or just cos they like me?

    Yahoooooo Rich got a medal oh yes oh yes, there you go:T :T :T :T :T :T :T :T :T :T :T :T :T :T :T :T :T :T :T :T :T  :j :j

Yeah, basic muesli is boring really but you just stuff your own things into it and its almost an ideal meal.

So you're a good girl really just with dodgy self-control. Fair enough.

  • Evening peeps!

Here is my little beaming face! Thanks for thinking of me!

Well club was good, challenging as very hilly, downs as well as ups... downs are tough as towards the end i felt like my toes were coming out of the front of my shoes... maybe i need a wider toebox (is that even a word?!)... anyhow the regime tonight was walk 5 to warm up.... run 10.... walk 3... run 20... walk to finish...

the trainer stayed with me all the way tonight, and i think i was a bit faster than i might otherwise have been...

it was good, but i'm not as elated as i was last week...

i paid my dues for the next 4 weeks so no fear i will be stopping or anything, plus i have a groovy club hi viz vest.... which i have since taken home and sewed longer elastic into the sides as it was unnecesarily clilnging to my chesticles....

my upper front leg muscles are killing me, (quads? i can't remember...) but they have been twitchy all day so i think it is yesterdays swim aches rather than tonights run... i expect i'll be walking like john wayne tomorrow.... did you know his name was marion too!!??
I'm just a seething mass of contradictions....
    (it's part of my charm!)

Oh Maz, that phrase made me laugh!

Anyway, you cant feel elated after every session, but it sounds like you covered 2.5 - 3 miles there, so on an undulating course that is going to have given the muscles a good bit of stretching.

You're right, the uphills will get at your quads so you might be a bit Marion Morrison tomorrow rather than Marion Whateveryournamereallyis.

'Unnecessarily clinging to chesticles' - I'm just trying to think whether I've ever been accused of that particular misdemeanour. The answer is 'probably' :o.

Anyway, another 4 weeks. You'll be well into it by then...and then no stopping you!
