30 secs x2 is the way I do it. Can't find fault with your logic there Maz.

And Beer Tins on 50 as well - this an unusual collection of low pulse rates I have to say!

Low pulse rate can be a problem as well though, I think. Though not usually if it's due to an active lifestyle!

Mine is 73 and 72...def think I have something developing I don't think its normally that high. What was it said Rich it goes up by 20 Bpm?

Maz that is a very low rate, your body is obviously a temple!

Sally, that would be a perfectly normal reading. But, if it is higher than usual it is because it is still working hard at repairing all the damage you did to the poor thing!

Yes, the perennial 'How low is TOO low' question. I think I'm safe in saying that '0' falls into that category.

The lowest rumoured recording through fitness is 28 by Bjorn Borg, Seb Coe was 35ish at peak.

But, as I say, you've got to get very familiar with your own rate and how it reacts to different events. If a rate is normal for you, its normal.

You are genetically blessed Maz. Or summed up in one word that you use in your sig you have huge 'Potential'. Your body is very efficient - it means you can use fuel very economically.

Sooooooo. cue typical woman response: would that be why i'm not burning the amount of fat that i'd hoped for with this level of activity?

Correct! Its good not bad. Which is why my BMI rises more than you might expect when not training - but it is of no concern.
