  • Wasn't expecting to be made so welcome so quickly, thanks! :j

Maz, yep I am a lady (well female lol) I'm quite lucky with time as my partner works shifts and we live in the adjoining house to my parents so there is more often than not childcare available.

The 'peak' of my running career to date has been the London Marathon in 2007 (took 4hours 23min) but I did considerable damage to my knee and now no longer run anything longer than 10K as the injuries seem to mount up after that.

I've noticed that Idiophreak is running in Swansea this Sun - so am I!!! Yey :D Did my pb there over 10k last year at 54:59 (was aiming for under 55min so how about that for timing). Would love to go under 50 but realistically am aiming for 'better than last year' only.

5K has been more my bag recently with a 'once in a lifetime' pb of 21:08 although for some reason have never managed to go below 24 min since - must have been following someone with very cute legs for that PB:rotfl:

I've sort of got stuck now and don't seem to get any better (and would also like to shift a stone in weight) so need to change something.

In terms of training I do 1 long run a week (6-10miles), 1 timed 5KM a week, 1 easy run over 40 minutes and 1 interval training (400m/400m). I also do 1 spinning class, 1 weight training session and (don't laugh...) I pole dance and have my own pole at home so have a 2 hour lesson a week as well as 15/20 min practise a day lol.

Oooh and as you may have guessed from my upcoming 10K I am from Swansea.

    xx

    Hellooo,

We've been sending out search parties for you - welcome back. It wasn't a bad idea you got going there, was it?

Trouble is the sanity level has probably plummetted lately so you have been warned! ;)

own pole, 2 hour session a week - well no wonder you have no trouble finding a babysitter!! i betcha your OH will do anything for you if you promise him a wee dance!!!!

I might consider getting a pole, but would need a reinforced one! or maybe i should just use a washing line pole and give the neighbours a laugh.........!!!

You sound mighty fit already.... i think you'll like it here!!

Would it be a bad idea to do two half marathons one week after the other.. I might have a change of plan and join Hypno & co on the 19th.. or I might do both! (sorry in quick reply box and can't change colour of text!)

Lol!! Amazingly enough he barely bats an eyelid  he just makes sure the blinds are down so that no-one passing can look in.

I highly recommend it though, really good fun and has done wonders for my core strength. The poles are VERY sturdy, can hang upside down until my heart's content.
