Big beff - Good luck tomorrow, conditions look OK at 16C and cloudy so have a good one. Make sure you come back tomorrow/Monday to let us know how it went.
Maz - If you dilute an isotonic drink it becomes an hypotonic drink (although better than straight water). I'm a bit unsure about the 'supersweetness' you describe - that may be just the flavourings. I use lemon flavoured Isostar which is absolutely bootiful during and after a run. I don't have a sweet tooth at all so you should find it OK.Gt NW 1/2 Marathon 21/2/2010 (Target=1:22:59) (6:20/mile) 1:22:47 (6:19):j:j

I assumed that it would become a more watery drink... altho i wouldn't have picked the right word, so hence counter productive....
i wonder if it's possible to get samples of these drinks from their websites...
it's not that i don't have a sweet tooth ordinarily, i just find lucozade sport n stuff to be mega syrupy........I'm just a seething mass of contradictions....(it's part of my charm!)0 -
Awww.....don't you just love a man that knows 'stuff'??
That was very interesting again thanks Rich. :T"I wasn't wrong, I just wasn't right enough.":smileyhea97800072589250 -

Sally,
Whatever you do, always 'fake it' over the finishing line, even if you have to sit in a bush round the corner for 10 minutes to compose yourself. You've got to look good on the photos!
Oh, and don't forget to take advantage of this afterwards:
Race day
Our team of physios and sports massage therapists will be there on race day to help you with any injuries and ease your muscles after the race. We look forward to seeing you in Millennium Square on September 14th.
I am so jealous - I wish I was fit enough right now to join you! It looks like a very flat course - well chosen!Gt NW 1/2 Marathon 21/2/2010 (Target=1:22:59) (6:20/mile) 1:22:47 (6:19):j:j

There is nothing better than realising something is going to be far easier than we had imagined, because we had expected the worst scenario. And a real motivator.
Hi Redsquirrel
Well I have just come in from running 6 miles or so. The sun was shining and i felt really up for it. I took in some hills but ran at a fairly steady pace. Ok it did feel as if I hadn't done much running in recent weeks, but I am sitting here feeling good and energised. Getting ready to meet friends for lunch, so feeling relaxed and satisfied.
Thanks everyone for your recent support. It is much appreciated“The primary cause of unhappiness is never the situation but your thoughts about it.” Eckhart Tolle0
