HWGA the egdon harriers don't have a number on their page just says turn up at 7pm tuesday at the squash club.
Please don't leave us...I might be running (jogging/walking/running) a half but im by no means a technical experienced runner. If I get around on Sunday it will be a miracle
I'll make a wish, take a chance, make a change And breakaway. I'll take a risk, take a chance, make a change and breakaway ....
    Finally Debt Free...

  • HWGA,

You're not going anywhere - we need you!

We want EVERYONE involved. I'm not sure I know what you mean by not wanting to 'hold anyone up'. In what way?

This could actually be unique and you're part of the start of it. Let me explain:

    Where else could you:
    1. See what people are talking about in a club anonymously (If you want to)
    2. Join in the chat anonymously (If you want to)
    3. Pick other people's brains about improving (If you want to)
    4. Get encouragement for your goals and target setting (If you want to)
    5. Meet to compete in races (If you want to)
    6. If, and only if, you want to progress to be a AAA club member the option is there (If you want to)

I honestly don't think the option exists anywhere else to put your toe in the water in this way and progress to whatever level you want to.

Don't get concerned about all this talk of a 'club'. It doesn't make any difference to anything. Its not for elite athletes, or at least we're stuffed if it is cos we aint got any!
It doesn't make any difference at all except to potentially gain us one or two benefits.

So stop being daft and give us a big hug!

    Hiya Sally,

    Not long now.

You just need to try to eat carbohydrates such as cereals, pasta, jacket potato. But don't overdo it - just eat to what your normal appetite dictates. You will not run out of energy because there is around 2,000 calories of glycogen readily available in your muscles which is about 20 miles worth.

Its more important to get a good restful sleep TONIGHT. I've never really understood this one, but it is the sleep two nights before a race which is most important.

.........but you won't take it unless you need it right? I don't imagine it could be good for you to take it if you don't need it.............

I'm sure Paula actually only had a pee in the street didn't she? funny how it has gone down in fokelore that she had "the other"!!!!!!!

You won't, but don't put so much pressure on yourself.

Go and enjoy it. Its always a good idea to start very slowly and let the speed build up naturally. You always enjoy races far more where you start slowly and build up as oppose to going hard early on and then having to hang on. So as slow as you can early on.

What's the worst that will happen, you run 2 miles, walk a bit, run 2 miles, walk a bit, run the last 2....!

No shame in it anyway.... personally i have full confidence that you will do it, and in fabby style!!!
