PS Following on (sort of) from the previous posts did you know that it is against IAAF rules to wear watches/time-keeping devices in races?

As you've probably guessed, I've done my work and am just checking in again before heading off!

RE: the running shirts, yeah the one I got from Nike was brilliant. Can't see myself going back to cotton t-shirts now. So not very MSE Maz, but a good purchase all the same!

How did you do that? Smilies working again?

It is actually true about timing devices. The rule is something like 'All competitors should use common timing technology provided by the event organisers' and used to be strictly enforced.

Over time technology has resulted in the rule being relaxed, although it is still strictly enforced up to 10,000m on the track.

But I wouldn't worry, you're not at risk of a lifetime ban for your misdemeanours.

  • I've been thinking guys and your all real runners unlike me so am feeling maybe that's what you need in the club and maybe I should go it alone, I could never keep up with you all an in no way want to hold any of you up.
So maybe that's the best thing but will still lurk and pick up what I can:cool:

    Hi Guys,

Sorry been very busy the last few days at work so haven't been able to partake of the usual banter...

No running today as I heard last night that my very best friend in the world got knocked off his bike last night and has broken his collarbone...I'm not in the same city as him and he lives alone so I'm worried sick about him :(....couldn't face the run today as you can imagine!

Luckily he's okay and I'm going up at the weekend - everyone else can run instead for me while I'm playing nurse!!!

Okay, i see what you're saying but i didn't start the nursey talk...! smart aarse!
I'm just a seething mass of contradictions....

Oh HWGA... sorry you feel like that but i know where you're coming from. I feel a little outta my depth too with all these real runners!

we're supposed to be all inclusive and all abilities, so by being here as a founder member you can be a real inspiration to others and can help us recruit new members at the same level as you are... it's really not about running entirely or at all as far as i'm concerned....

If you do decide you're not for stopping on the founding members, you MUST still come to the thread and let us know what you've been up to every day, the thread will not be exclusive to members of the club or anything... and anyway there isn't even a club yet!

I keep saying founding members etc, cause i really really want you to stay.... you really bring something to the thread and will do to the club.
I'm just a seething mass of contradictions....

  • What is a REAL RUNNER?
It does not matter if you can run a mile in 5 mins or 15 mins, you are still a real ruuner
And for anyone thinking of entering their first race,so what if you do come last someone has too.
