Perhaps you could leave your car at the next station along the line sometimes, just to increase your distances? (As a fat pedestrian, I'm ALWAYS being advised to get off the bus a stop earlier, I just wondered if that would work in running to your train station?:D )

    Good Idea!:T

That running diary site is good.
I typed in a request for a 5m race (gotta start small) and got offered an approx match only 3.5 km! Sadly I have a subsequent engagement and won't be able to partake. :rotfl:

    What a brilliant idea!
Free (apart from your race entrance fee), fun, raises cash for charity and gets you fit!

I just completed my local Race for Life (and raised £250) - first time I've ever done a run and now I've really got the bug!
I'm not a great 'runner', I'm afraid I'm the walk-jog-walk-jog kind but really keen to keep going. There's a 10k I've seen at the end of September, and aiming for that.....fingers crossed!

How about we all commit to each other to find an event in the next six weeks to two months Set ourselves a realistic but challanging goal and keep each other informed of training progress and how we get on on the day.

This will help with motivation and to know that there are other nutcases out there who are supportive and interested.

Must run - off to my running club

Okay - just a quickie, I have to out soon... I've recently started running and I still need a few kick up the ... to get me out. Being of the larger busted lady variety I don't like running when anyone else is around.... 5:30 came round all too quickly for me this morning... but I WILL run tomorrow.....
