  • anywhere between 6.0 and 9.5 minutes per mile roughly............. so kinda varied..... but much much faster than me, and faster than average i'd say.... what makes you think you are slow?

magnus will be along in a minute to give you a more scientific answer!!

    LOL The scientific answer is:

Becky, if you're doing 3 miles in 15 minutes you're my new hero (or is that herione). Can I be your manager?

That won't take a lot of doing - I suspect we're all 'virtual runners' really. It's dead easy - you just google bits of info that make it sound like you know a little bit about running. And then you grab a couple of pics of some random bloke in a race and , hey presto, everyone thinks you're a real runner. ;)

I suspect you're probably the only real runner here and therefore you are the fastest!

I'm already starting to worry about this mental image thing - especially as the only picture I've posted is of a slightly damp squirrel! :o

Speed-wise, the last time I did a 5k race it took 45 mins but a lot of that was being stuck in the walking crowds at the start, I think in practise I was doing 5k in about 30-35 mins. All the Moonwalk training means I've got strong legs but my lungs are a bit creaky!

  • I did my first and best 5k RFL in 37 mins... which was ace, same year i did a 10k in 73mins... so i'm never gonna be fast... subsequent 5k with less training were 40 and i think it was 43 this year....

but i try... which must count for something, eh?
I'm just a seething mass of contradictions....

Ahh thats my once a week run as fast as you can run, I actually nearly passed out doing that this week! Its good for the footy training where you have to run flat our for 45 mins (good old five a side is sooo tough).

22 mins is more like the usual run in the mornings, and I get much slower when I go over 3 miles (hence the 45-50 for 5.25 miles), probably becuase I'm outside my comfort zone.

Okay Rich come on fill us in on your vitals!

It was good while it lasted!

If by vitals you mean training times, then right now the little bit of running I do is 10 min/mile ish and the walking about 18 min/mile.

However, in my head I can still knock out a marathon at 6 min/mile.

Just shows that the virtual world can have advantages over the real world! :p

    Damp squirrel is not bad!

    They called me much worse.

I think you've got to concentrate on the cute bit rather than the damp bit IMO. (Just a thought).
