How much are Value Jaffas now, not 58p? sucks if they've gone up.
Also the chocolate is a rip off now, 48p to 79p over the course of 3 months, went to 52p and then jumped again.
And now they got rid of Value bars and made those smaller looking ones which aren't Value and retail at 46p which are horrible and cheap compared to the 79p one.
"Goodfella's pizza and Fox's group Northern Foods has warned that biscuit prices are set to rise on the back of higher raw material costs, particularly chocolate.
The group, which is a big supplier to Marks & Spencer and the supermarket chains, said commodity costs for its biscuits division had risen by around £5m."

Try Lidl & Aldi.
I was very surprised at how much cheaper & better quality our weekly shop was when I first went there. There may not be the range or choice of the mega stores, but what there is, is usually better - IMHO.From MSE Martin - Some General Tips On Holiday Home Organisations and Sales Meetings

I am former R+Rer, yes I went to Tesco constantly checking prices to see if they had changed in the hope that the displayed price was wrong or there was some discrepancy that I would get the item for nothing. I did fairly well out of the deal. But part of the checking prices I actually noticed the changes that were made, price increases then 4 weeks later a special offer normally the special offer still resulted in paying more than was paid when they were at their lowest price 4 weeks ago. VAT free entertainment or something wasn't it? all the prices went up by £1-£5. the large cadbury chocolate bars the offer was often 2 for £2 individual bar prices of £1.35. Asda sold the bars for £1 each all the time.
Tesco for the freebies and asda and local shops for the rest, Tesco are not the biggest supermarket because they are the best, they buy up land and old stores just to stop the other supermarkets buying them. Marketing with the clubcard and "special offers" make people think that they are getting good value when they can probably get the same for less using another supermarket or local shops.
Tesco meat is pants infact most supermarket meat is, very little taste no mater how you cook it. hey but it is cheap.0 -
Kingsmill bread before it was repackaged was around 73p a loaf. Now it's new and pretty 96p. Has all the ingredients gone up sooo much? Dont think so. I think they're all starting to get very greedy.0

Shop elsewhere (we do aldi/lidl/netto), but keep an eye out for the loss leaders at the bigger supermarkets.Hi there! We’ve had to remove your signature. It was so good we removed it because we cannot think of one so good as you had and need to protect others from seeing such a great signature.0

"London: Red hot agricultural markets are pushing food prices up in Europe, putting central bankers on alert for a new phenomenon economists have termed "agflation".
From cereals and edible oils to coffee and cocoa, many agricultural markets are at multi-year highs on a combination of robust global demand, particularly in Asia, and weather jitters.
Grains, which are close to 10-year peaks, have seen rising demand from feed makers as Asian meat consumption grows and, along with vegetable oils, are increasingly used to make biofuels, producing the so-called "food, feed and fuel" effect.
As analysts forecast possible further price rises ahead, Europe's biggest multinationals have already felt the impact."

Not at all unless you are a brand !!!!! in which you won't find many branded goods especially at aldi/lidl.
Their fruit and veg (lidl) has been over half price for at least 3 weeks now and is just as good, if not better than Tesco/Sainos... Meat is on the same level as supermarket although availability is iffy.
My £30 tesco shop is now a little over/under £20 each week.
Lidl has what I need, and being a bloke its amazing to be able to do a weekly shop in 10 minutes... their layout has everything i need in 3 aisles :rotfl:0
