Fishy .. if you ask me..

Cure .. avoid Tesco's.. at all costs..they are one greedy outfit.
Their points all come at a price to your wallet/purse, they give nothing away.
:rotfl: yes very fishy
And i have to agree how true they are the true moneymaking experts! You are paying for the points in effect ok if you really want them but might as well save the money from shopping somewhere else and get a cheaper holiday than doing it with deals as they tend to hike up the prices if you are paying by deals:mad:0 -

Yes, and then someone will open up a better/cheaper supermarket, and we'll go there instead...
Its called capitalism folks and its (luckily) here to stay - we could always do what the Russians did, oh, hang on, they had to queue up for rubbish produce - but at least it was fairer because everyone had rubbish...or nothing.0 -

Tesco - best retailer going, otherwise they wouldn't be so successful. Used them for years, they take all our coupons and we save a fortune; if we have a problem it's sorted.
If anyone doesn't like Tesco, they are quite welcome to go elsewhere rather than whinge about them.0 -

I regularly buy online, I noticed about a year ago, I could buy packs of 24 Tesco loo rolls online, then they became always unavailable, I naturally thought they had discontinued that range. I then noticed on walking in to the local Tesco they hadn't they are still on the shelves instore a year later. They are very popular at around £7.00 for 24 rolls. The shelves are empty of them quite often.
I used to buy Tesco mayonnaise in a squeezy bottle too, they then discontinued it, so I switched back to a jar. I then noticed it was back repackaged with a snazzy new designed Tesco logo and around twice as expensive!! It was originally around £1.20 when it came back in a different shaped/sized bottle it was £2.20 odd!
I also buy Tesco cider vinegar (its lush) in a glass bottle. It was around 79p when I started buying it a couple of years ago, and the price veered wildly, (though usually down??) till it ended up around 49p a bottle. A month ago it disappeared off the website (not even showing as unavailable this time just completely disappeared from my favourites list, so I forgot to buy it that shop too!!) Now the only cyder vinegar they have is Aspalls which is around £1.30 for the same size bottle and does not taste as nice as the Tesco version. I surmise that the cider vinegar was not popular with buyers, but I am waiting for it to turn up repackaged and twice as expensive...
Though these are all Tesco brand not value I thought you might find this interesting.I always wanted to be a procrastinator, never got round to it...0 -

...and there I was thinking this was a discussion forum  silly me!
I think people would disagree on what constitutes the 'best' retailer. Best at screwing farmers/producers over? Best at forcing local businesses out and creating a monopoly? I think I'm with destinedtobeskint on this one...
Soon it'll be like the US where there's nothing at all in town centres, just out of town barn-like shops.0 -
Yes, these things happen everywhere...
At Sainsburys I used to buy a packet of 10 value fish fingers for 24p. Well, that was last monday, because yesterday they were selling them for 49p!!! At the have the cheek to display a big great paper, as if they were on sale! I am sure that in a couple of months they will announce "we have rolled our prices back" and will sell them for 40p, still having a great benefit for them!
I do not know about asda but one month ago they told me they did not have value long life milk (i could not find it anywhere so I asked) and I just bought four this afternoon.0 -

When I looked online, Tesco Value Chopped Tomatoes 400g were £0.15 and Tesco Value Plum Tomatoes 400g were £0.19, so maybe these have only gone up in price in some areas.
The price increase that I personally think is most outrageous is on Tesco (not value) 200g chocolate bars. Up until a couple of months ago, these all used to be around 50p, including Whole Nut, Fruit and Nut etc. Now they are 79p, meaning an increase of over 50% for no apparent reason.

How much are Value Jaffas now, not 58p? sucks if they've gone up.
Also the chocolate is a rip off now, 48p to 79p over the course of 3 months, went to 52p and then jumped again.
And now they got rid of Value bars and made those smaller looking ones which aren't Value and retail at 46p which are horrible and cheap compared to the 79p one.0
