1,000 ebay list challenge

Pah! Yet another eBay swipe at private sellers:
From September 5th - "Final value fees will be charged based on the combined value of the item listed plus postage. For example, if an item sells for £20 with postage cost of £4, the final value fee will be charged based on the combined value of £24. This will not apply if the listing offers collection only."
So basically private sellers will either have to accept less for their items than others, or else will have to charge higher postage (thus making their items less attractive to buyers) than identical items from business sellers.
Great. Thanks for the ever increasing discrimination against private sellers, eBay.
Applies to business sellers as well, who also pay more in listing fees.0 -

As rhiwfield says the changes are harsher for business sellers with no shop

Hmm. I didn't see any update about business sellers, but if as you say then I guess just a way to artificially pump up eBay's revenues/push people towards offering "free" p&p.
Certainly there's no benefit at all in making fixed price listings with separate p&p now.For where your treasure is, there will your heart be also ...0 -

If you are a business then you should have received the email notifying you of the changes, there is some discussion here about them in general:

Don't forget as well that for business from this Autumn they *must* offer inclusive postage to qualify for TRS discounts.I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the eBay, Auctions, Car Boot & Jumble Sales, Boost Your Income, Praise, Vents & Warnings, Overseas Holidays & Travel Planning , UK Holidays, Days Out & Entertainments boards. I'd like to join this too! I've set myself 100 for the month and I'm only selling my clothes, shoes and similar. I like to do quick 3 day listings to get rid of it all fast! So far this week I've done 7 items including dresses, skirt, bodysuit and OHs football boots with a grand total of: £121.93! So happy with this, have just come across the post that free listing this weekend so I think i'll hang on before putting anything else on!House Deposit Challenge..12k by the end of 2013!
