Unless your seaplane was on the same ticket then the contract with the airline would have ended at MLE - you could try and claim that back from your travel insurance

Thanks. I wasn't sure if this section of their Denied Boarding notice would apply to our hotel stay, as it would come under a stay additional to that intended by us:
"You will also be entitled to hotel accommodation and surface transport between the airport and such accommodation if a stay
of one or more nights, or a stay additional to that intended by you, becomes necessary."
But it's not really clear to me if they are only talking about mid-connection stays or if it applies to any stay incurred as a result of their delays.

Even if there is an excess-you'll still be better off than the nothing you currently have towards lost hotel charges/sea plane (eg anything that wasn't your scheduled flight).I Would Rather Climb A Mountain Than Crawl Into A Hole

Even if there is an excess-you'll still be better off than the nothing you currently have towards lost hotel charges/sea plane (eg anything that wasn't your scheduled flight).
Because the costs incurred total £131 but the excess on the policy for claims relating to delay is £200. So would we not be £69 down if we claimed?Mother, wife, scientist, analyst.

What the excess means is if you claim for £300 you would only get £100 because they deduct the excess from your claim.
It is to prevent you from making small claims.
It does not mean that if you claim for under £200 you owe them money.
1. It is a rubbish policy.

I just wanted to say a huge thank you for your links and advice on your page. I had previously read about alot of horror stories when trying to make a claim for flight delays with Thomas Cook. I can only speak from personal experience but they have been so efficient and forthcoming with my claim I haven't had a simple problem.
I used the standard letter template on the MSE website, emailed them via the link. Within 2 hours they had aknowledged the claim and within 21 days they had refunded the claim direct to my bank account.
They did initially offer vouchers but I asked for a cash refund and they obliged now problem.
My advice to anyone would be don't be put off claiming. :j:T0 -
A massive thanks for the advice, I had tried to claim off Thomson 3 years ago when our flight to the Maldives was delayed by 24 hours and I basically got fobbed off.
I saw the piece on TV in January and decided to try again, 3 letters later (I got no reply to the 1st 2 so you do have to be persistent) and a very pleasnt man from Thomson called me and told me they would be sending a cheque for the maximum €600 each straight away - it arrived today!
So thanks very much! Thanks to your site allowing me to be clear on my rights made it much easier to continue to go after this compensation.0 -
Hi - just wanted to say thanks to MSE for your template compensation letter. I've just used it to successfully claim a massive 1,200 Euros compensation for a 15-hour delay my wife and I experienced at Madrid airport back in September 2011, which ruined the first night of our honeymoon to Ecuador. The LAN flight to Guayaquil was so late we almost missed our onward flight to the Galapagos Islands, which we'd booked for the day after our intended arrival. I always knew we could claim compensation but had no idea we could get so much back until I read the advice on MSE. Couldn't believe how straight forward it all was in the end - 10 minutes to fill in a form and two weeks later the airline has agreed the claim! Result.:j0

Does not sound like Thomson at all there. Especially considering the impending Dawson appeal.
Who actually paid you the compensation and what have they done with the real Thomson Airways?;) (Not that I want them back though!)The above is just my opinon - which counts for nowt! You must make up your own mind.0
