Hi
Thanks for reply I checked the website out and got the same answer LS921. it was a Thomas cook flight when we got to check in it had a note saying via bodrum as it had to take plane parts for a stranded plane, after the 6 or 8 hour delay and change of plane thank god we didn't stop at bodrum.
I have no idea what to do now as I can't see thomas cook giving me the details I need,
Thanks0 -

Well either post on Jet2 or TC thread when you determine whose plane you actually flew on but read FAQ's on page one of appropriate airline first as details can be obtained by SAR etc.0 -
Thanks for your help, didn't realise was a Thomas cook thread.0

It would seem that some NEBs, Spain for example, are much more willing to make a decision in favour of the passenger, stating that the delay/cancellation/denied boarding circumstances were not EC.
I wonder how all our European cousins are faring in relation to 261/2004 claims/payouts/NEB coperation (as opposed to CAA collusion/burying their head in sand attitude).
Or do they not suffer the same sort of delays that UK peeps do?If you're new. read The FAQ and Vauban's Guide

Good question. The view of the European Parliament was that there's a problem across the Union in enforcing passenger rights. And the NEBs (or most of them) were complicit in pulling together that fantasy wish list ...0

There is a recent comment by Coby Benson on the Thomson thread about the Spanish NEB:

Hi guys,
I flew with Thomas Cook from Turkey to East Mids in 2007 and seem to remember being stranded in the airport for about 10 hours. I am considering a claim after watching Martin's show last week.
I have the e-mail info from booking the holiday but when using the flight stats website, I don't have the flight number on the e-mail to confirm it was that flight. Is there a way to find out the flight number or take the claim forward without the flight number please?
Thanks in advanceA big believer in karma, you get what you give :A
If you find my posts useful, "pay it forward" and help someone else out, that's how places like MSE can be so successful.0 -

With thanks to the Monarch Complaints Facebook Page I attach a link to the CAA letter of 20.12.2013 to a Midlands MEP.
As I have been invited to respond any brief comments either on this forum or fb page appreciated.

I can't see how both these statements can be true!
"In the year to October 2013 the CAA has gained approximately Euro 1,000,000 for passengers ...".
"The CAA does not have the same powers as an ombudsman, and we cannot issue a binding decision on airlines."
If the average compensation was Euro 400, Euro 1,000,000 is 2,500 passengers. He states 21,310 complaints were received in the same period. That points to a "success" rate of 11.7% even if you assume each complaint involved a lone passenger - which is highly unlikely. 11.7% is considerably less than the 80% "non-EC" rate admitted to in the BATA letter of December 2009 to the then Transport Minister.0
