If something is thennot clear post some details and then maybe we can help
  • Flight in January was delayed over 5 hours. I've written to CAA THREE times and am still waiting for a reply! Airline (Jet2) won't pay up although delay was due to fault on aircraft. Does anyone know what you do when the regulating body doesn't even answer?

    Hi Kathrine,

    NBA and court,
  • Please can someone help.

We was recently on the delayed flight to sanford from manchester MON303.

I have emailed Monarch to apply for compensation.

I would like to know, do i still contact my holiday insurance to inform them of the delay and request compensation or can you only do one of the options?

    Thanks in advance

you can do both....check your policy, some offer something minimal like £20 for each 12 hour delay! (so the insurance does not pay the EC compensation just what is in your policy)

I'm not the sort of person who generally makes compensation claims (for anything) as things can, and do, just go wrong. I might be lucky that not many things have ever gone wrong for me - maybe that's why I don't claim compensation (IYSWIM).

However, I will be claiming against Olympic for a 9hr delay last September because they knew about it for 2 days beforehand and instead of trying to warn us/alter the schedule or something more sensible, they just chose to let us all turn up and wait! The airport (shops and restaurants) closed around us and it was a rubbish start to our holiday, my birthday and our 1st wedding anniversary celebrations.

I will use the CAA template letter in the first instance and will try to remember to let you know how I get on.

Ooops! So I posted the above in February and only just now got round to doing anything. As I reserach further and read more, I realise that my airline for this flight was Small Planet. Has anyone had any success claiming from these and is there a UK address for them? The only address I have is Poland - don't hold out much hope of my letter even arriving!! Think I will email it too.

    Thanks.
If you have nothing constructive to say just move along.

I suggest you give up on the CAA if they can't acknowledge you letters let alone answer them.
They are a bit of a toothless tiger. Keep your copies and issue a NBA letter to the airline.
If still they do not respond to your liking you will have to use the Small Claims Court if you think your claim is valid.

I believe they are based in Lithuania www.smallplanet.aero , if you have any trouble and your flight was from UK| the CAA should help. It is possible to file an EU kind of mcol if you have to.

Hi, I am looking for a little assistance please.

I am trying to put together details regarding a claim for flight delay of 18 hours (plus a 1 hr delay for the re-scheduled flight!!) from Gatick to Larnaca.

Can anyone help with how I find out why our flight was delayed?
This may be a bit involved as it would appear that either Small Planet took on more flights than they had planes and the delay was due to them having to charter another plane... or it was because the plane was taken out of service and they had to find another plane.... or that Small Planet never agreed to cover the flight in the first place.

    Any help greatfully received.

    many thanks,

    Natalie
