I think you should withdraw that suggestion, I post on a number of forums but I don't own or have any material interest in any of them.

Then I ask you to cease and desist promoting the forum that you have been advertising. It's against the rules.

I make no apologies for referring some forum posters to other forums where they may sometimes receive better and more specific advice about their problem than here.

It's against the rules. Is it that difficult to understand?
I do however try to answer forum posters on this forum whenever possible and only when it is beyond my competence do I suggest they invest time elsewhere in their best interests.

Given that you aren't legally trained, nor are you willing to advise just who has advised you on these matters, I struggle to see what 'competence' you may have.
xxxis the leading forum for specific questions on European passenger air regulations and possible issues forum posters may have.

As I said in my response I have no material or other interest in any forum anywhere.

Again - please cease from promoting the forum.

  • PBS, you really need to look at the rules in the context they were designed for. SPAM is not tolerated ,but reference to a forum or website that helps people, adds value or offers specialist advice is evident all over MSE. Indeed the owner, Marin Lewis regularly provides links to them.
I hadn't heard of flightmole before Cityboy provided the link to it, but am more the wiser for it.

Given that Cityboy posts on nothing but flight issues, along with constantly promoting the site in question - it's pretty obvious that he's simply advertising his own forum. It's also not a very popular forum - which lends even more reason why he's on here - it's simply to promote it.

    And it's against the rules.

He has already stated he has no relation to it other than "member"

Very common for people starting a forum to go on other forums and pretend to be nothing but a satisfied user. Didn't the UK recently outlaw companies doing just that?

Not true....I know many frequent flyers (myself included) who like to pop in to flightmole to keep up to date with changes in interpretation and court rulings on this very issue. We certainly view it as popular, helpful and professional.

I would, of course, fully expect an O'Leary apologist to try to prevent consumers from seeking to obtain their rightful compensation from airlines:cool:
  • Hi,
Quickie, my Ryanair flight was delayed for 2 1/2 hours due to technical difficulties. The Pilot said it was because the plane had to de-iced. The flight was from from cork to liverpool, am I entitled to any compensation?
    Thankyou

If the plane was being de-iced I would actually say that was weather related rather than technical...it has caused addional turnaround times in recent weeks and in cases like the low cost airlines which have a very quick turnaround this will have impacted more. I was in Zurich a couple of weeks ago and we left the stand and went to join a queue for de-icing before being able to go to the runway for takeoff.

I believe that delays get you "assistance" (drinks, phonecalls etc over a certain time) not compensation although there seem to be some notes on having your fare refunded after 5 hours delay.
