  • I have hunted high and low this morning for the booking reference from our flight about 17 months ago and can I find it... NO.... and thinking from reading the thread and with us being Thomas Cook passengers that it'll be unlikely to get us anywhere........... Nice thread and got my hopes up for awhile but being disabled, I don't think I can really cope with the stress it would cause :( It would have been a potential 600 euro x 3, claim too..........

How long does it take the process of going to the small claims court if done online?
The time limit I set out for Thomason airways expires on Monday. However I am out of the country for 2 weeks from next friday. Should I risk the small claims getting in touch when out of the country or wait until I get back to proceed?

On line (Northampton) will probably pass on paperwork to your local Court once registered and this can take weeks. From memory Thomson (presume this is who you flew with) will be given 2 weeks to respond once they have received the paperwork so really up to you if you lodge claim before you go away or when you return.
  • My partner and I were in Cancun in May 2009 (time of the swine flu outbreak). We were there two weeks whilst the 'epidemic' was going on and paid it little attention. We were due to fly back on the 8th May at 23:55 GMT and got a call from Thomson the day before saying that our flight back would now be on the 9th May at 12:05 GMT. I asked the woman on the phone whether this was a money saving exercise due to having two half-full planes (another flight was brought forward from the 10th May to the 9th). She said yes (later confirmed by a flight attendant). Thomson did put us up for another night in one of their hotels.
I wrote to them in 2009 advising that I wanted compensation due to having to pay for a taxi from Gatwick to Staines, and for having to take an additional day off work. They refused, saying it was beyond their control. I still have a copy of the letter I sent them and the booking reference. How do I go about re-visiting this?

    Thanks.
    You're my badger now Dave.

I have been delayed for 3 days in Las Vegas and 2 days in Cancun...a !!!!!! i know :D

Both times it was Thomas Cook airlines I was flying with. Las Vegas was due to bad weather (snow) we were put up in a hotel etc....

And Cancun....we were told tech issues and again put up in a hotel etc....

Both were package holidays. Do I have a claim for a refund/compensation ??? I don't have my booking ref dets or tickets as it was both 3 years ago...but know the dates.

Can anyone please advise ??? Thanks
  • Hello,

I have had a read through the page on claiming refunds / compensation and am a bit confused, so would be grateful if someone could help me out!

In December 2010, I was delayed 5:50 on a flight from Prague to Leeds Bradford airport. The delay was due to bad weather, as the plane could not take off. In this time we were not offered any food / drink.

A second delay happened to us this summer, a flight from Orlando to London Gatwick. We were delayed just under 5 hours (officially I think it was 4:56). This delay was due to the computerised navigation system not working.

As I said, I'm not too sure if I can claim for anything, so any help would be gratefully received!

    Thanks

    Steve
  • I was delayed back in 2006. 13 hour delay going out and a 23 hour delay on the way back. This was on Monarch airlines flight to Luxor in Sept 2006. The total I am claiming is £960.00 Anyone that was on those flights should also claim. MON1942 outbound, MON1943 on the return. Dates; 4 Sept 2006 & 18 Sept 2006. My letter regarding compensation should now be on their desk at Monarchs hq at Luton airport! I will keep you updated.

I believe you are out of date for making any claim.
  • I was delayed last year with a group of my friends. I'm pretty sure I have a good case for a claim, I booked the flight on my credit card for everyone, so do I have to put in the claim for all of us or do they have to do it individually? Thanks

Your flight to Leeds Bradford does not meet the criteria (bad weather) however your flight into Gatwick appears to satisfy the requirements for a claim.
