If the flight was operated by Lotus Air, then you may find it difficult to make and enforce a claim as they are based in Egypt.
If i remember rightly we actually flew with EgyptAir. Struggling to find the booking info at the minute, have a feeling it may be in my partners emails. I believe we booked with a small independant travel agent, which we found through Icelolly.com. So if it was with an egyption airline, we may stuggle with a claim, even though we were flying from an airport within the EU?0 -

IMO yes. I'm not a lawyer though. That's an off the cuff answer. I would look on the Courtservice website and start looking at the rules and regs for a small claims (online) and see if a joint claim can be made. Don't forget your local CAB have a list of solicitors that do an initial free half hour appointment (in the hope of more business of course) and you can go armed with a list of these type of questions and get some answers. (before perhaps deciding to instruct the sol to pursue your claim, as of course the airline would have to pay costs. This is only if the airline disputes the claim of course. Any claimant has to get the airline to put in writing *the reason* for not paying up any compo before you would go to court. All IMO)............
Thanks Mark, so although my original claim was in April and put on hold, and given the have hinted at least 6-8 weeks with no guarantee.. doe sthat mean although givena 14 day tiem frame to settle I cannot start the court claim till they respond?0 -
I have got a few dates that I need to work back to, I was delayed for 7-8 hours in Ibiza airport in either 2009 or 2008. I have tried to use the flightstats website as advised on the weekly email but I can't work out how to check back on the old flights? Any used it that could help?
Thanks
edit
think i have worked it out now0 -
lol Mark, they clear think we are ill lol...
Yes I have also sent everything off by recorded del.. what I have noticed is they consistently ignore questions....so am guessing we are not going to get a response...
Perhaps when they start receiving court papers it might alter things,0 -
I booked a Cruise with a local travel agents which was a Celebrity Cruise through Royal Caribbean. The flight was included through Jet2.com. There was an 8 hour delay on the flight due to a technical fault resulting in missing the ship and joining it 4 days later. Celebrity paid a take it or leave it compensation which was accepted. I have written to Jet2.com to try and claim the flight money back and they have replied saying I did not book the flight directly but through a third party Royal Caribbean and take it up with them. Do I write to Royal Caribbean now or the travel agent I booked it with and as I have already had compensation will there be any chance of getting the flight money back ?0

Thanks Centipede100 for the reply in post 2268....I did not send a specific LBA but did include the date of 15/11/2012 and pointed out they have been aware of my claim for 6 months...
I asked before if I need to send an LBA and you said you thought not, as the info was already in my letter... whilst I appreciate that it may well be a pointless exercise but am happy to send an LBA if you feel it necessary....
Thanks Centipede1000 -
Hi All,
In May 2005 I flew out from Leeds/Bradford to Larnaca Airport with my family for my brothers wedding. We chose a morning flight approx 10am as we had some young children with us and didn't want a night flight. We were delayed for 11 hours and ended up with a night flight in the end. We was informed by the lady at the check-in desk that there wasn't a plane for us we had to wait for one to fly to majorca first then come back for us. Since it was so long ago we no longer have any paperwork with the exact flight time & number on. We know the airport and date. How would we get go about getting this info to make a claim???????0 -

Hi,
This is my firtst post although have been an avid reader of the site for some time.
Can anyone advise if a claim for a flight delayed by 9hrs in 2007 can be made when the airline (Astraeus) ceased trading in 2011. The flights were booked through Olympic Holidays who are currently trading.
Many Thanks:)0 -
