    Oh no :(

Are you able to appeal the decision?

    No :(

Well, yes, but it wouldn't help.

Sorry to hear that Andy. Have you thought about what you can do going forward?
A positive attitude may not solve all your problems, but it will annoy enough people to make it worth the effort

    Soooo....where I'm at.

I have now left work and had my last salary in November. No pay for Christmas, boooo! But seeing this coming allowed me to put some money aside in savings, so no need to panic.

I also managed to negotiate a leaving package (or it could have got ugly!) so will have some more money to fall back on.

I won't get the package until end of January, so what I've decided to do is carry on paying the mortgage off at this incredibly fast rate for as long as I can - until I've just about depleted my cash.

    Giving myself a little bump...

I received my final package from work, meaning I have too much cash to receive benefits currently, so am Income free (ish). Decided to let out the spare room for £300 a month to keep something coming in.

Right now I have more Assets than Debts, but cannot pay anything extra off the mortgage than I am already doing due to penalties.

I've decided to keep overpaying the mortgage until my money runs out, so I won't be far short of mortgage free by the time that happens hopefully.

I've also managed to pay for a new central heating system throughout, so that's a worry less and my 61 plate Toyota Hybrid is now mine and paid for, including the next 2 years of servicing and is inexpensive to have parked up unused as the insurance is only £25 a month and free road tax.

Just updated my numbers. It's great to see the mortgage still dropping at a tremendous rate despite having no income!

I've also applied for PPI compensation, I had no idea it was charged on things like Loans and Mortgages as a "hidden" element of the Interest in the past, so had never bothered applying until now.

Maybe I'll get a few extra pennies from that to help towards the overall picture?

edit - oh, and I wish those Premium Bonds would do SOMETHING!!!

    Bumpidity bump!

    BIG DAY for me tomorrow...

I'm headed to the bank to make my final mortgage payment - nearly 4 years ahead of my original predicted date.

I left work last year through ill health and took a lump sum when I left. I've been collecting up all my funds from various sources, shares, ISAs, premium bonds, debts owed to me and have finally cobbled enough together to pay the mortgage off in full.

My New Years Resolution will be to enter 2015 debt free and stay that way!

I have no other debts, at all. My house is worth about £1/4m and I have a 3 year old Toyota Hybrid paid for in full too.

I never thought I'd get there and certainly not before I hit my mid 40s!
