I'm going to sound like a right div here, but I'm obviously missing something! These "actions" people talk about seems to include web searches, and you are expected to do x amount per day? How can you prove you have done them to the JC though? You could say you've done them, but spend all day on here! :D

When I write down I looked at x site I have to also write down a job that I saw advertised on there and if I am not going to apply I have to write down the reason it is not suitable.

really, your moaning because she has to take 3 bus rides once a week?! she's not working so what else is she doing with her time?! seriously, some people complain about anything. Tell her to get a push bike off freecycle or something if she doesn't want to pay the fares...

@shiraz - perhaps read the post properly before you "reply"?

People on JSA must use the Universal Jobmatch to manage their jobsearch. Your advisor has your code and they can spotcheck your job search at any time, send jobs to you etc.

If you view a job, it adds that job to your activity history. It also monitors how many jobs you have applied etc. If you do anything beyond using Universal Jobmatch, you need to log it on your history or it doesn't count.

Sorry but I don't think £4.40 once a week is much out of £56 when your living at home.

She might think its not fair or silly because she cant walk to the nearest jcp but as I have found out, things in life are never simple or easy. She might actually find out it benefits her in the long run.

That is not correct - giving advisors access to your UJ is not compulsory.

Please note - it is not my daughter posting here/winging - it is me.

As I do not understand the logic of it.

    So wondered and asked.

Thanks for all the relevant replies.

Just pay her bus fares - like it or not, it's the way it is, take it or leave it, she can stop claiming if she wants.

As a mum if you feel so strongly support her yourself.

I will have to do exactly that.

But wanted to know if this is normal to have to sign on so far away?

I honestly don't know, but specialist support until proven otherwise is a good thing and worth the price of a coffee.
