Do you wear clothes your partner/ OH doesn't like?

Beautiful weather here, I have a pair of orange shorts ( yes orange. :rotfl::rotfl: not luminous though:rotfl:) that OH hates, he is kind enough not to outright say but his face says it all:)

So, do you ever agree/ not wear outfits/ clothes because your OH doesn't like them?

Nope i wear what i like and OH does the same ~ believe me, some of the stuff he,s worn over the years he,d have a bloomin cheek passing comment about anything i choose to wear!
  • I really like tea dresses that OH says are 'old fashioned' but as I like them and I think they suit me I just don't ask for his opinion anymore!

ETA: He always asks me if what he's wearing is ok/goes together etc so my taste can't be that bad.

Yup, my huge and comfy uni hoody. Nice and comfy not at all sexy. Also HUGE comfy knickers, again not sexy. Oh and some amazing red jeans - all my friends say they look good, so I assume he has no taste.

I do care what he thinks but it wouldn't stop me wearing what I like. However, I tend to charity shop his clothes once they look awful and he doesn't shop without me so wouldn't get a bad purchase past the changing room. Plus he has better taste than me (shhhhhh don't tell him).

I'd wear the orange shorts with pride!

 No never. And I'd never tell him what to wear either.

Well that's not "quite" true. I do sometimes have to remind him to put clean clothes on :rotfl:.

He doesn't tell me if he doesn't like something, but he does mention if I wear something that he does really like.

However, he does have a hideous lime green shirt that he insists on wearing to nights out. I don't tell him not to wear it, I just make sure he only wears it when he's out with the boys...:A

He doesn't say I can't wear something but he does make a comment now and then like 'I can see your bra in that top' whereas he knows I like to dress quite demure so I think its more that he knows my taste and don't like my bra to be showing!

He does tend to wear chino trousers which make him look about 17 and I despise them but I'll never say anything!

I wouldn't know as my OH can't really give two s**ts about ladies fashion.

On the other hand he has some clothes which make me gag, for example a navy vest top which is about 20 years old which is so cheaply made it's almost see through and make him look like he's about 12 years old. He's a rather spindly thing so anything like a vest top makes him look like a little boy!

Before he met me, his wardrobe consisted a lot of his things that wouldn't look amiss on a tramp (holes, worn, tops he had bought for £1 each) as he never bought anything himself. I have slowly conditioned him with birthday and xmas presents ;)

I've never told him what to wear except when he thinks wearing a t-shirt with a sexual innuendo on it is appropriate for dining at a posh restaurant or going to a posh function, just bought him things for xmas and bday or given him gift vouchers to decent clothes shops, which he then actually picks some really nice things out from.

I wear what I like in the house but I make an effort when I go out with him. I make an effort when we go to bed though even though he's fast asleep by the time I go to bed .... a girl can try cant she? :(

I had a boyfriend who told me that he would 'prefer it' if I didn't wear figure-hugging or cleavage-revealing tops when I went out with my female friends, because I had him now, and didn't need to be attractive!

Needless to say, it wasn't a lasting relationship.
