Do you wear clothes your partner/ OH doesn't like?

I've really enjoyed this thread.
The answer is 'yes' - I shop at charity shops, almost entirely (trousers from M and S) - mostly because I am deluded enough to think I'm going to drop a couple of stones and so won't need many clothes in my current size so no point in spending big bucks.
Anyway, often I come home and hold up my latest 'find' and he just sort of glazes over as he desperately scrabbles for something to say that won't actually offend me.
The other day I put on a top and he said 'that doesn't look as bad as I thought it would'. He meant it as a compliment.
So I wear whatever I want, no matter how he reacts to it.0 -
No, I don't think either of us do - well, unless we're just slobbing around the house or doing DIY, in which case anything goes. We both like shopping for clothes together, especially if we're buying something nice for a special occasion. Part of it may stem from the fact we both have exes who didn't take any interest so we both really appreciate being with someone who does care."There may be a legal obligation to obey, but there will be no moral obligation to obey. My DH isn't keen on "sports casual" (you know, the jogging bottoms with stripes down the leg seams type thing). He's never told me not to wear something though, and I wouldnt listen to him anyway!
I've styled him up considerably since we met, he was a bit "middle aged" when I met him, but I try and get him to wear nicer quality, younger clothes these days. The worst item he had were some terrible 80's spectacles - they had to go!0 -

That's a good place to start. Wearing sports clothing whilst not participating in any sport is the mark of the chav."There may be a legal obligation to obey, but there will be no moral obligation to obey. I dont wear sports clothing with stripes down the side at any time, however, I do wear sports clothing when Im not teaching classes (Im a fitness instructor), because its comfortable and Im not really into wearing skirts/dresses unless I go out of an evening.
If that makes me a chav, then so be it.0 -

Oooppps!
Well I guess I'm a chav then! I think my hubby has got used to my love of sports wear and leggings by now....although, in my defence, I do do sport and walk a lot. Comfort wins for me everytime.
When I do get dressed up though, he does tell me that I 'scrub up well' :rotfl:
I do value his opinion though, because he is always brutely honest, and I prefer this. I don't get that some men (or women too for that matter) lie to their OH just for an easy life. The person asking for the opinion, shouldn't ask if they don't want an honest answer.
I don't think he is that keen on animal print though, but I still sometimes wear it!0
