I've had tranexamic acid from my GP, they just stop my period. OP I don't know if anyone's said but that's a hell of a painkiller list... Tramadol isn't something the NHS gives out willy nilly :eek:Mum of several with a twisted sense of humour and a laundry obsession

Sex! A good orga$m works wonders I find. I think it works by relaxing the womb afterwards. I've also found that it works if I'm a bit chesty/asthmatic - it helps open up the airways. Give it a try - what have you got to lose?0

It feels like the pain never responds to painkillers (trust me I've tried - Paracetamol, Ibuprofen, Codeine, Tramadol, Morphine, Pethidine, Diclofenac, OxyNorm and OxyContin - nothing works
Morphine for period pains? Seriously?.....................I'm smiling because I have no idea what's going on ...:)

Morphine for period pains? Seriously?
I did wonder if the OP had come by all of them legitimately... So far as I know oxycontin is not available in the UK and is highly addictive.
She should definitely try tranexamic acid, like I said it just stops the period and all its symptoms. A gp would definitely try that before morphine!Mum of several with a twisted sense of humour and a laundry obsession:o

Not officially, but I had open surgery around 13 months ago where they found and undid a lot of adhesions (original goal was to remove my gallbladder), so it does seem possible. I'll ask if it doesn't get any better in the next couple of months.
Definitely get it checked out.
My friend did as she suspected she had endo due to terrible pains each month, it turned out she has two uteruses. Hence double the pain. And she's glad she knew before ttc as even when pregnant she needs to use contraception!0 -
A gp would definitely try that before morphine!
And most women would have tried a hot water bottle or a hot bath before morphine, yet OP doesn't even own one apparently
She's also able, though in her own words unable to stand upright with the pain and only able to hobble, to accumulate her entire drug collection, lay them out on her sofa where I assume they don't live and photograph them, then transfer the photo onto her computer and post it on a forum pretty quickly to demonstrate how ill she is0 -
I find the cup so much more helpful, though mostly becasue I can take it out if I need to.
Most months I'm not too bad but every now and then I have a pretty horrendous month. I hadn't thought about how what I was eating could be affecting it.
For me, the best thing to do is lie on my stomach as soon as I am able to and hope to fall asleep!0 -

I don't know where you have gotten your information from but you are wrong. OxyContin and oxynorm are both available in the uk.0 -

Yes because spending a year in and out of hospital for extreme gallbladder pain couldn't ever possibly co-inside with my period. And I don't even have a bath!
My drugs are in a plastic bag, next to my sofa at all times. The picture was taken on my phone, and emailed to my laptop, and uploaded to the account that I use to post pictures here frequently. As to quickly - it was over half an hour. None of this is anything amazing.
It seems you want to rip apart everything I'm saying, what exactly have I got to gain from this? You are making no sense.
Oh and to the questions, all my painkillers came from my GP, I have tried that whole list over the course of 4 years, I painkillers daily, and got periods throughout this time. That is how I know they do/don't work. I didn't take them *because* of my period, but did take them while on my period and noticed - due to the quite prominent pain that they didn't work.0 -
Personally, I'd be frightened to death if my GP prescribed morphine for period pain without referring me to a gynaecologist..................
