Yeah cats can be sympathetic to tears and pain , my granma would be sweari.g by a family pet of 20 years who used to come when she was not in a good state.
Op , you are tour own best advocate , nhs system would rather feed you with painkillers and fob you off , unless you do something about it that's how it will go on.
The word "dilemma" comes from Greek where "di" means two and "lemma" means premise. Refers usually to difficult choice between two undesirable options.
Often people seem to use this word mistakenly where "quandary" would fit better.

I started my periods when I was 12, always been heavy, the pill helped but it didnt stop the heavy bleeding which I still suffer from

Im not on the pill anymore, but Ive tried painkillers of various types, all I can say is if something isnt working you need help from your GP but the bottom line is, its something we need to deal with and I dont think chocolate helps really, might help with the hormonal side of it but not anything else

And even though you might not feel like it, exercise helps, Im a fitness instructor and Ive had to teach classes when Ive felt terrible, exercise didnt make anything worse

My mum suffered from very heavy bleeding and a massive hormonal imbalance for a long time, she suffered massively from depression linked to her periods

The coil helped her, mirena I think it was, her quality of life improved when that was fitted, was like night and day

Until then she had 20 years of her Gp saying, its not your hormones, its your kids etc etc

Also, I am sympathetic, but I wouldnt be taking a cocktail of medication to try and get through it, if its not working which it clearly isnt, you need to look at other ways of getting through this, even if it means going back to your GP and asking for a second opinion.

I cant believe some of the replies on this thread. I'm finding more and more on these boards that people are so quick to have a go at others, the OP asked for advice for goodness sake not judge and jury about how quick she can take pics if she is meant to be in pain.
Why bother participating in threads if you have nothing useful to add?

Anyway, OP, you have my sympathies, mine are getting worse the older I get so if I was you I would get yourself seen to now.
I'm booked in to have the coil fitted, I so hope it works as its getting to the stage where I cant even go out for long as I'm flooded and in awful pain, it totally wipes me out.

    Sending hugs ((((((())))))) xx

If you mean me I did make a useful suggestion. Please read my post properly to find it!

I bought one, and in the smallest size, but I can't get the bloody thing in  I think I might just be extra small or something, as even average boyfriends have umm 'ripped' me.

Have you had a doctor or nurse examine you internally at any time? That doesn't sound right unless you're very tiny in build, it may be that your uterus sits in one of the more unusual positions up there and is causing plumbing problems by leaning down on other organs. Most of these tip-tilted positions don't cause conception or pregnancy problems so don't fear that, I've got a tilted uterus myself and apart from them having to rummage around for my cervix when I get a smear it's never caused me any problems. But also I never got much by way of period pains either. It just flags up a query for me though if you're not only getting such extreme period pains plus damage during normal intercourse and I was wondering if you've had a full physical check up down there.

Yup. Me too. I was the first one to mention a mirena. But if you look at the whole thread every non narcotic suggestion has been discounted by the OP (mirena, heat pads/hot water bottles, menstrual caps, gentle exercise, positions to lie in), who is self medicating with controlled drugs supplied for other conditions, so it is clear what kind of advice she wants to get from the thread.

You were also the first to suggest she was a troll!

Have to agree about getting a proper referral to gynae.

My dd (now aged 23) has suffered excrutiating agonies since the very beginning (about 10 years), been carted off to A&E etc, nothing GP gave helped.

FINALLY got a referral and there WAS a physical problem, a proceedure in day surgery and she is like a different girl......

    :j

All those years of pain and misery, simply because no-one would take the time (and spend the money on referring her) to check her properly, no matter how many times she (with me when she was younger) tried to explain just how terrible it was.

Dont put up and shut up.....no-one should suffer like that, in this day and age.

    :(
