I used to go through agonies too; the whole situation settled down after I had the Vallikids.
DD now has similar problems so she's on the pill. Still painful for her, but now no longer so severe.Don't put it DOWN; put it AWAY"I would like more sisters, that the taking out of one, might not leave such stillness" Emily DickinsonJanice 1964-2016

This probably seems stupid - but the thought of doing that really hurts, it's sort of like confessing that I know I can't deal with it. I know it deep down but I just want to push the consequences aside in my head until I'm more able to deal with it.
I keep telling myself it will be fine in 6 months, and it's helping me to keep going, but I know really I'm probably looking at 3-4 years.
Ultimately, by not taking the relief you might be pushing your goal back further by the suffering and stress each month while you are obviously tackling some other very stressful issues.
IMO finding solutions, even of they are medium term ones, and accepting them as medium term ones, allowing you to clear 'other clutter' and get into a better position for your health in all respects is the exact opposite to failure.0 -
I've been on Cerazette for nearly five years and I've only had maybe half-a-dozen periods since then.0

I used to do reflexology and a good friend of mine swore that I could help her pains when I massaged the Achilles tendons in her heels/ankles and also the circle of nerves around her ankle. These are supposedly connected to the the relevant body parts, so it's worth a try.
I went onto depo because of a similar problem. I don't want kids, so that isn't an issue, but after a seven month timescale when I was on more than I was off (19 days at a time, on super tams + pads every day), ended up anaemic and wouldn't wear anything other than black trousers for months at a time just in case, it was a godsend! Some days, it's just not worth chewing through the leather straps....

Thanks, I've had two sides of my brain arguing over it and you've sort of said the words one half was trying to find.
I really don't want to give up, but in the long run, it will probably make the wait shorter. I'll see how things go next month, and if the medication hasn't improved things again I'll look through my options at my monthly review with my GP.0 -
The depo injection stopped mine completely. Unfortunately I had to switch to the implant last year as I'd been on the depo for too many years already (risk of osteoporosis).
As others have suggested, I would recommend the femmecup or similar too. Only started a few months ago with it and kicking myself for not starting years ago. I can actually 'forget' that I'm on my period
And an alternative to a hot water bottle is the stick on heat patches you get. Some you're only allowed to stick on to clothes (usually the nurofen ones I think), but I have used ones that you can stick on to your skin. Ummmm these ones. They're flat so fit under your underwear no problem. Heat up really well, and last hours. I'd only ever need one on day 1.Wealth is what you're left with when all your money runs out0 -
