I assume OP must have already been to the doctors, given that they've tried morphine and pethidine!
RazWaz it sounds like you need to try and sit it out until the Thyroxin starts to take effect again. Can you distract yourself a bit by doing something, games, puzzles, x-box, whatever?
(Some LOVELY comments from some of the women on this thread  "Just get on with it, WE have to" Yeah, very helpful.)0 -
In which case I guess the usual hot water bottle/paracetamol etc advice isn't really going to cut it for you.
I guess just resting up/trying to keep your feet up is all you can try.
Hope you feel better soon.Metranil dreams of becoming a neon,You don't even take him seriously,How am I going to get to heaven?,When I'm just balanced so precariously..0 -
Well I saw the hot water bottle option, thought I would give it a try, but I don't own one. I found if you play a game on a laptop for 5 mins it warms up nicely and can be used as a substitute.
It's not doing much for the pain but it is very soothing.0 -

I bought one, and in the smallest size, but I can't get the bloody thing in  I think I might just be extra small or something, as even average boyfriends have umm 'ripped' me.0 -
I actually found ahot water bottle made my pain worse and would be a trigger for my vomiting and fainting!
I still despise the school nurses who insisted i try one before sending me home...0 -

And yet in your opening post you say you are curled up on the sofa with your cats and a hot water bottle.
Are you trolling? Odd subject to choose.0 -
If you're at work you still have to get on with it whether they work or not - you can't take 3/4 days off sick every month!
Honestly i think your not realizing the severity of some peoples periods.
I had 3/4 days off every month for a year at school before i took tablets to stop mine.0 -

What method are you trying? The folding method they suggest in the box isn't always the best one, there are other ways that make it smaller. It might also help to... do things to open yourself up a little more. You could also trying squatting on the floor if you're sitting or standing, and try to do it in the shower the first time.0
