I too made some of these and they are fantastic. As I have two chocolate lovers in the house I put melted chocolate on the top of some, so I now have plain hobnobs and chocolate hobnobs. Very moreish.

I did this thismorning too (DH has been nagging me all week that I have not made him anything with chocolate in), I have not tried one with chocolate yet (stuck to the plain ones) as they are for DH but they do look yummy.

ah but a nice way to eat all those healthy porage oats :D
  • I made these yesterday. Are they supposed to come out just like hobnobs? Mine came out just like very thin flapjacks. They are still soft today.
I did stick to the recipe and timings; any longer in the oven and they would have been burnt.
    I'm a bit disappointed  .

i wouldnt say they are very like hobnobs but shouldnt come out like yours did skinnygirlnot, might there have been too much liquid used they dont usually spread out so much and shouldnt be soft, i usually use hard margarine not soft
  • Thanks Twink. I used soft margarine.
Do you think they would work with butter?

would think so, penelopepenguin used butter, but remember to weigh it as some packs might be more than 8oz, dont know about you but if i am not in the mood when i bake things never turn out right even with the right ingredients etc :D hope next time is okay

I used Vitalite both times that I've baked them and they've come out perfect. Just packed DH off with a couple instead of his usual cereal bar. :D

Can I ask I made these last night and mine came out quite soft and tasted quite floury - Where did I go wrong
You laugh because I'm different - I laugh because you're all the same
