i have written down both reipes as hubby only likes hobnobs...and i have promised to make some as long as he either takes them to work to eat or doesnt eat them in front of me..well not if he wants to dunk them :eek: ... Still he reckons thats a fair exchange :T-6 -8 -3 -1.5 -2.5 -3 -1.5-3.50 -
this is the recipe i use
8oz sr flour
8oz sugar
8oz porridge oats
8oz margarine
1tbsp golden syrup
1tbsp hot water
1/2 tsp bic soda
mix flour, oats and sugar, melt marg, syrup and water in a pan stir in bic soda and add to dry mix, mix well, make smallish balls and put on greased tray and flatten slightly with a fork, 180oc for 15 mins, cool on the tray, you just want them golden in oven not brown
OMG! I just made these and they are absolutely fantastic. CDG: My thoughts exactly. I made them yesterday morning and there were LOADS! Over half gone now though as we can't keep away from them! Maybe saving £s but gaining lbs!0

I have just taken a batch of bickies out of the oven
I got your recipe..but as im packing up to move i didnt want to open the tin of syrup, so used honey and i had some oats with sultanas and dried apple in to finish off... so i thought i would try my luck:o ..... and ohhhhhh my word mmmmmmmm they are scrummy...cant wait to unpack in germany and make a proper batch;) ... i only made half a batch too as im not a biscuit fan and they were for hubby....well he had better hurry up and get home or i may eat all the evidence:rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl: ......-6 -8 -3 -1.5 -2.5 -3 -1.5-3.50 -

problem is, I dont really eat many biscuits(they were intended for DH and DD), but it made soooo many (32 since you ask), and it would be a real waste to let them go bad....

MRS MCAWBER i am sure honey would do, i have heard it said golden syrup was the poor mans honey, i thought i would add choc chips to the last lot i made but silly me added them before the melted marg so the choc chips melted and they didnt taste so good, dgs3 liked them though0
