If you don't get any viewing by two weeks, contact the agent. I believe it's Housesimple? Tell them if you don't get any views in the third week you're terminating your contract and going to another agent. Perhaps they're not making a big enough effort.
One week is probably a bit too short a time to get too worried. After two weeks I would contact them. There are lots of EA out there, just move on if you're unhappy. It's also good to have short term contract with EA so that you know you can dump them in a relatively short time!
The bottom line is there's only so much you, as the owner, can do. You can make the property look inviting, clean etc but it's up to the agent to get the punters interested. Ultimately if they fail to get the punters, move on with a new agent, or worst case scenario: drop the price a little to tempt some new interest.
There is also Gumtree - the biggest free classified ads site online. They advertise homes. You market your home yourself.0 -

What extra kind of effort could Housesimple make, given that they are an on-line agent with the house listed on Rightmove, Zoopla and their own site?
As the OP has paid up-front, threatening to go elsewhere isn't likely to have a great deal of effect!0 -
Ah.. paid up-front? Never a good idea. I'd rather stick with 'commission after the sale' estate agents. Least that way you don't lose money if the EA is useless at getting people to view your home. I've had a bitter experience with my own EA, thankfully I didn't spend any money, but I do know that you learn from your experiences. It might be better for the original poster to go with a regular commission based EA and hope they find some people. Good luck.0

There is just one thing I find annoying with your listing, is that the room measurements are only shown in metric, most agents list both metric and feet and inches. I know I am showing my age but there are still lots of people around like me that don't 'do' metric.
When somebody mentioned they thought the rooms looked small, I checked back and the measurements didn't mean a lot to me.
I like your house by the way and think it is well presented.
Good luck with your sale.0 -
I have not paid any money up front at all. ThanksPropertyfan wrote: »Ah.. paid up-front? Never a good idea. I'd rather stick with 'commission after the sale' estate agents. Just to clarify, you didn't have to pay Housesimple before they uploaded the details on to Rightmove & Zoopla?
Sounds good if that's the case.0 -
