just found that it has "reset" my contract and started a new 1 year broadband contract with exit penalties. Not only that, but the previous discounts I had agreed with BT have been cancelled as well "because it is a new contract" so my contract has gone back up to its very old original procing so the "free" BT Sport is going to cost me £140 for the yearJames, it is a one year contract but they shouldn't have taken your discounts off you. They should have continued. Email the BT Care Team to look into the matter.0

They don't use a Content Delivery Network (CDN), pen1. Hence when theres anything like high/medium demand it can do what you describe above or just crash completely.
Sky Sports 1 (Burnley v Chelsea) buffered about 10 times this evening and in between I was watching a blur.
This was so bad that it was beyond my lack of expectation.
Meanwhile, a speedtest indicated that I had 74Mbps available (Unlimited BT Infinity 2).0 -
I have a few passes that expire shortly, so have trialled the service over 3 consecutive days.

Sky Go also uses the same system. Thats also crashed in the past. Skys mantra is bang it out cheap, sell it expensive. But with the advents in new internet technology, there are other alternates out there that knock the socks off Skys poor offerings. And cheaper as well.
Its looking like Sky's gravy train is over.0 -

Now TV and SkyGo are no great money earners for Sky, rather they are "spoilers" against potential competitors.0 -

Indeed. But the numbers have now plateaued. As reported on here , Sky now offer increased discounts for disaffected users, combined an increase in ARPU, plus an increase in internet TV numbers from rival services, the numbers will start to tell. Indeed Skys corporate user number presentations are already opaque. Interesting times.0 -
I was reasonably impressed with the Now TV offer. I too had the occasional spurt of buffering, and the picture quality seemed to be "2-speed" - sometimes it as pretty poor but for the most part the definition was fairly decent, I thought. The current offer of £11 for a week really is good - especially for a Test match, or something like a big golf tournament or big weekend. I'll probably do it again - it gives the warm fuzzy of virtuousness that wiziwig doesn't offer.0
