I know Kate will have known to some degree what she was marrying into, but I wouldn't wish being trapped inside a hospital having just given birth surrounded by people with cameras just like a zoo on my worst enemy.

This "study" was put together , and the results published by a republican group.

I would take their word with a pinch of salt. Not likely to be non biased, are they?

Hence I gave a wide range - £50m (what the monarchy reckon they cost us) to £200m (what they cost if you include security, lost revenue from Cornwall/Lancaster Duchies, etc).

Calling the Royals parasites is a bit 'teenage anarchist' (right on, man.. smash the state.. we are living in a fascist regime..) but still, it's your opinion..

    Definition of parasite from thefreedictionary.com:
    par·a·site (pr-st)
    n.
    1. Biology An organism that grows, feeds, and is sheltered on or in a different organism while contributing nothing to the survival of its host.
    2.
    a. One who habitually takes advantage of the generosity of others without making any useful return.
    b. One who lives off and flatters the rich; a sycophant.
    3. A professional dinner guest, especially in ancient Greece.
Both 1 and 2a describe the royal family perfectly.

The Royal Family costs the tax payer about £33 million a year (62p a person?), and generates £500milion from tourism, which leads to an extra £176million for the UK treasury, so that's not really true, is it?

It really gets my goat when people say "It's me who's paying for them", when they don't have a clue what they're talking about.

My sister had a appointment at St Mary's yesterday with her consultant. Well, she should have. She arrived, and taught her way through the crowds only to discover it was cancelled. Having only recently been diagnosed with a rare neurological condition, and days away from running out of the medication she needs to stay well enough to work (for the emergency services). This cannot be prescribed by any other clinician because it is currently unlicensed.

The unit that is treating and researching her illness is being closed down due to lack of funding. 200 patients are going to be unable to get treatment. Just a few metres away a social climber is lounging in a room costing the tax payers £6k+ per night.

Something about that picture doesn't look right to me.

Something about that picture doesn't add up, if you ask me!

If the medication is unlicensed you cannot get it here. Full stop.

(Especially not if you're an NHS patient, which it sounds like your sister is?)

I know this to be the case because a friend of mine asked to try a medication which is licensed in almost every other EU country except the UK and he cannot get it.

    .
Unlicensed drugs can be prescribed in certain circumstances, and frequently are.
