People moaning about the Royal Baby
Comments

The chances are high that it IS the family that have paid for it, but the possibility that they may not be leeching off the public purse, would get in the way of a nasty vitriolic attack against the Royal couple. Couldn't have that now could we?
I mean SOOOOO many other people are suffering because of this vile over-privileged pair. Think of all the lives affected because of their existence?! :rotfl:
Will you be taking off the rose tinted specs any time soon? :rotfl:
It's all so cringingly calculated. Diana's ring, similar dress, same blanket, same baby handover outside the same hospital. Cringe cringe cringe. So many repeats of history. Let's hope the rest of the story doesn't play out like it did for Diana, eh.Trying to be a man is a waste of a woman0 -
This thread reminds me why I now live overseas...The apathy and negativity to what is a momentous and joyous occasion is sickening.
Unpatriotic people like you are really spoiling a once great country. You should be proud of it's history, achievements, and yes, it's royal family. You have no respect for your country or for each other and you have turned the place into a cynical, depressing, doom and gloom laden hell-hole.0 -

(I have another friend doing similar for a potential MS drug).
That's the problem. Only consultants directly involved in the research can prescribe the drug. She should be increasing her dose, but looks like she'll be stopping (and suffering) because of NHS cuts and the media circus at that particular hospital.
She could see the consultant privately, but obviously at massive cost and the second she does that the NHS will turn its back on her.
She's 32 and this drug has made the world of difference to her.

Few private/NHs integration is getting much better, I see my neurologist privately and NHS. (Originally referee back to NHs for a lumbar puncture which they don't do in the provinces privately) and my eye man privately but have to attend NHs eye clinic because private doesn't have all the equipment necessary. Under these circumstances I think its hilt unlikely the NHS would wash their hands of the case.
As someone with a rare neurological illness I know we tend to be quite 'interesting' and especially if your sister is happy to be on trials then she's going to be taken care of.
I hope she gets her medicine today/ASAP. It must be worrying for you all, but worth remembering she's sensible to have made herself 'valuable' to the consultant being on a trial. My NHs appointments get messed about all the time, no royal babies involved.0 -

Why do you have to be proud of the royal family? I am sure they are nice people and everything and I know they have a lot of commitments and engagements, but what have they actually achieved, apart from having the fortune (or not) to be born into that family? Why should I be personally be proud of that?
A new baby is a celebration for any family and becoming a parent for the first time is fantastic. But I find it very strange that if I don't celebrate the new royal baby in this sycophantic way the media is, it makes me somehow less British, cynical and showing a lack of respect for everyone else! I am happy for them, they just have nothing to do with my life so why should I be proud? It's total overkill.
I am happy to be British, I think it's still a great country and not a depressing place full of doom and gloom (despite what papers like the Daily Mail try to make out!). I think it's full of great people who achieve brilliant things, despite not being born into the monarchy.
I still live here, too0 -
How come Paris draws more tourists without a Royal Family?
.
Paris has a reputation as a beautiful and romantic city. Its one of the few cities in the world that springs instantly to mind.
Now, I love London, I think its fabulous, and its reputation is good, but Paris has a special draw.
Similarly I think posts comparing Buckingham palace and Versailles are unfair. A better comparison for Versailles might be Hampton court?0 -

I would say fe.ck off then but you already did. It's the unpatriotic people that keep this county grounded in reality.Sanctimonious Veggie. GYO-er. Seed Saver. Get in.0 -
This kind of thinking makes me feel physically sick. It angers me too much to be able to articulate a proper response, so this will have to do.Better_Off_1983 wrote: »I think Catkins is talking about people who get pregnant and it was not planned but then blame the fact they have no money and it costs to much to have a child. There could be far worse ways of putting it, but Catkins articulated it perfectly.
Yes, that is what I meant.notanewuser wrote: »Will you be taking off the rose tinted specs any time soon? :rotfl:

I think Kate seems much more sensible and down to earth than Diana. She also has a husband who seems to be very much in love with herThe world is over 4 billion years old and yet you somehow managed to exist at the same time as David Bowie0 -

I think London is a much nicer city than Paris. I also think Prague, Barcelona, Berlin and Amsterdam are nicer than Paris. Personally never seen the attraction of Paris. Have been there numerous times (kept thinking I must be missing something as so many people rave about it) but no, it's not for me and OH. Neither of us think it is a romantic city at allThe world is over 4 billion years old and yet you somehow managed to exist at the same time as David Bowie0 -

The key thing there is ' so many people rave about it'.. Its synonymous with a romantic getaway. London is fabulous (and romantic) yet doesn't have the same 'synomous' association.
. Its not a case of 'Paris is better' or London is better, its about expectations.

Royal families are a horrific legacy of historical abuse and corruption and serve no purpose what so ever in a modern society. They should be stripped of all titles and lands and be left to live as common folk.
People fawning over the birth of this child are truly ignorant.0
