People moaning about the Royal Baby

Also feel bad for any normal people having a baby yesterday whose arrivals have been utterly overshadowed by the hysteria over Her Royal Uterus.
I honestly doubt that will have much effect. The only people I cared about when my son was born were close family, and a couple of friends - and I'm sure none of them would have found a Royal Infant dragged them from the hospital we were in over to St. Mary's!
To one person saying the royals 'never work a day in their lives' l said that the poor Queen nearing her 90's still has to go out to work and can never retire, but got the reply that quaffing champagne all day is hardly work. So there we have it, the royal family are all raging alcoholics! :rotfl:
I'd loathe, absolutely loathe, to live a life like the Queen's, or Prince Charles', etc. Endless days of touring shops, factories, gardens, museums, endless making small talk to thousands of people, constant dinners for foreign guests, more small talk. I'd far, far rather work in a supermarket, or drive a train, or pretty much any other job....much enquiry having been made concerning a gentleman, who had quitted a company where Johnson was, and no information being obtained; at last Johnson observed, that 'he did not care to speak ill of any man behind his back, but he believed the gentleman was an attorney'.0 -

No, but he is a multi-millionaire in his own right. His mother left him a small fortune.0 -
Its a miracle that William managed to get any woman to sleep with him as hes very unattractive. She deserves a medal for lying back and thinking of England with him.0

Like most posters, I wish them well with their new baby on a personal level.
What I'm loathing is the whole 'celebrity culture' that convinces the media that we're all interested in this sort of thing. I'm no Royalist so to me Waity Katy is just another type of WAG. The only difference is that she's married some relative thicko who's inherited loads of money while WAGs marry thickos who earn obscene amounts of money from a passing talent as footballers.
What angers me about it all isn't their rather pointless lifestyle (in both cases) but the way wealth is distributed in this country. The gap between the 'have yachts' and the 'have-nots' is totally indefensible IMO.0 -
I'm usually pretty anti-royalist but good on them for keeping the news to themselves for a few hours. I'm still avoiding the newspapers though :rotfl:Make £25 a day in April £0/£750 (March £584, February £602, January £883.66)
December £361.54, November £322.28, October £288.52, September £374.30, August £223.95, July £71.45, June £251.22, May£119.33, April £236.24, March £106.74, Feb £40.99, Jan £98.54) Total for 2017 - £2,495.100 -

I'm pretty sure that if you ask David Icke, the delay in the world being informed of the birth was so the newborn could be sized up for his disguise... after all, they're all lizard folk aren't they?0 -

It really gets my goat when people say "It's me who's paying for them", when they don't have a clue what they're talking about.
Actually, they cost us anywhere between £50m and £200m when you take security etc into account. Then there's the return from the 'private' Duchies of Lancaster and Cornwall which make a tidy profit and don't pay tax at the prevailing rates and cream of lots of money which would otherwise flow to the exchequer.
The estimates of the the tourism value are bogus as well - do we really think that foreign tourists would stop visiting if they were able to look round all of Buckingham Palace all year round rather than a few rooms for a few weeks a year for instance? I'll bet you the entrance fees for the Palace of Versailles would indicate otherwise.
They're parasites, in the truest sense of the word - they gain sustenance off their host while at the sane time convincing it (ie us) that they're not doing any harm. It's time to get rid.0 -
Feel incredibly sorry for the kid. He's going to have every moment of his life scrutinised, observed, will be surrounded by guards for the whole of his life. Friendships, relationships, every aspect of his life will be publicly owned. Every word he says, hand shaken, look, smile, frown, mistake - all public property. He'll be hounded by the world's press and anyone in the street will be photographing him.
What a horrible life.

Do you not get £20.30/week for you daughter?
Not everybody is entitled to that, me and the wife aren't for our daughter due to our joint earnings.
I must say I was pleased to hear baby had arrived safely, that is a thing to celebrate in itself, my daughter arrived at just over 24 weeks gestation last year so I can really appreciate having a healthy child. They will be feeling like all other couples having their first baby, excited and like they are the first people to ever have a baby! Good luck to them, but yes the incessant news coverage is getting a bit tedious especially as there really isn't that much to say!0
