People moaning about the Royal Baby

People taking to social media saying this baby is yet another strain on the welfare bill. Also saying that the baby will not amount to anything and born to parents that have never worked a day in their lives!!
I bet most of these people complaining are themselves in receipt of some sort of benefit for their own children!! Hypocrisy!!!!

I for one am not. I worked hard for 15 years before having my daughter, who is being raised to be a useful and respectful member if society. We get no child benefits or tax credits.
The royal family are a waste of space who cost far too much and give too little back.Trying to be a man is a waste of a woman0 -
Well, the Royal Family have always been there and they are not going away so what difference does it make. Might as well enjoy all the pomp and everything that goes along with it.The forest would be very silent if no birds sang except for the birds that sang the best0

Just because the royals don't work in Sainsburys doesn't mean they don't work! I would not be able to live the lifestyle they live, no way.
(I'm talking about the prominent royals, who do a LOT of work, not the hangers-on who you never get to see much of, yet live a privileged lifestyle)0 -
A lot ado about nothing0

If Kate and William received only the same amount in benefits that the average family receives then 'hypocrite' might be a reasonable accusation. But comparing a few grand with the millions that the royal family receive from the tax payer is silly.
I'm not a republican by any means and the birth of this baby has me grinning like a loon, but I think those that do object do so validly and to accuse them of being hypocrites is nonsensical."Growth for growth's sake is the ideology of the cancer cell" - Edward Abbey.0 -

The Royal Family costs the tax payer about £33 million a year (62p a person?), and generates £500milion from tourism, which leads to an extra £176million for the UK treasury, so that's not really true, is it?
It really gets my goat when people say "It's me who's paying for them", when they don't have a clue what they're talking about.0 -
Im not a royalist and I dont have kids so dont fall into the category of claiming any money for them. I was surprised that hes accepting the 126 a week paternity pay, he clearly doesnt need it, a nice gesture would be to donate it to charity.
I think people have the right to their opinions on the royals or on anything else.
They may add value to the UK in tourism and the like, but they also get paid very handsomely for just being born royal.
My view is, if this baby will grow up wanting for nothing, no child in the UK should be born into poverty.
Still, I bet Liam Gallagher was happy that hes been knocked off the front pages by the new arrival0 -
Hmmmm, I don't think the 20 odd quid a week in child benefit that a lot of working parents get a week is comparable
I'm pleased that their baby arrived safely, as I would be for any other expecting couple, just don't feel the need to treat the birth like the second coming.
I think the Queen has done a fabulous job but the institution is, on the whole, archaic and elitist...
...and in other news...is there any other news today? :rotfl:0 -

Oh yes, I agree and anything to do with immigration and any headline saying "Single, benefit scrounging mother of 10 wants new house and YOU will have to pay for it!" To anger the nation and fuel its fireDEBTFREE AND PROUD!!0 -

I'm not in receipt of any sort of benefit, nor have I ever claimed benefits.
I'm very unlikely to ever be entitled to any benefits other than my state pension (when they stop ar*sing about with the date they're going to pay it) and I've paid NI contributions towards that for over 30 years.
I'm not of the opinion that this baby 'will not amount to anything' (what a ridiculous statement!).
To compare Kate & William with parents 'that have never worked a day in their lives' is, quite frankly, silly.
However, I am heartily sick (enough, already) of all the media coverage there's been so far and is likely to be clogging up the News for ages to come.0
