So someone in a Persistent Vegetative State can do some work!!
:rotfl::rotfl:
How about someone in a long term coma?
PS. I think you need to look up the regulations on this matter.0 -

You said 'Everyone CAN do some work.' ergo by that warped and stupid logic nobody should be in the SG because according to you 'Everyone CAN do some work'.
WADH
PS It's called the Work Related Activity Group NOT Work Group!0 -

Well I manage to work (restricted to 15 hours a week obviously) and I have been in the Support Group since Jan 2010 and receive HRM & HRC of DLA.
Do I imagine that I'm actually not working?
It would be much easier for me to not work, I wouldn't feel so tired and worn out every day. Also I only get £10 for that work as the other £80 gets knocked off my Pension Credit. But I just couldn't sit around all day doing nothing it would drive me round the bend. Yes I do push myself beyond what is good for me, but I always say that working has never killed anybody.0 -
Anyone know who/what will replace ATOS then?Owed out = lots. :cool:0

I am in the Support Group. I CANNOT work. At all. I wish I could.
I am far from work-shy.
I used to work. I worked full-time, running my own, very successful department. (Various jobs mainly in the Education sector)...I worked unsocial hours, and when I had some spare time I was active in the Church and did volunteer work in the local community...then ill-health kicked in. (Conditions I was born with and which limited the work I could do, but never prevented me working - until as I grew older the conditions worsened)
I still chose to carry on working. I switched departments. Then, when I couldn't manage this, I arranged to go part-time.
When part-time work became impossible I pushed myself - I don't like to be inactive!....I carried on with as many hours voluntary work as I could manage....always hoping that one day I would be able to go back to paid employment....I value my independence.
Then the day came when I could no longer do any volunteer work. I see my GP regularly. I see a number of specialists. Their professional opinion is that I am unable to even look for work.
Yes, sometimes I manage to check my e-mails...sometimes I can come onto MSE...and other sites....always with the understanding that I have a tendency to black out and fall onto my laptop!
On a really good day I can manage to go to the local shop - the one that is six doors or so down the road. On an average day I can't manage that far. On a 'bad' day I can't get out of my chair.
I am in the Support Group for a reason - because I cannot work. If I could , I would!....if Work -related activities were possible I would be in the WRA group.0 -

But you're not in a Persistent Vegetative State (PVS) or in a coma are you!!! So given that YOU have stated that 'Everyone CAN do some work.' how do you imagine those in a PVS or a long term coma or those people who severely mentally and/or physically handicapped can do work?
And by the way just because you managed to get yourself into the Support Group and carry out [permitted??]"work" that doesn't mean that everyone else in the SG can, that again is just a stupid and vacuous thing to assume.0 -
OK back to the subject - does this mean ATOS will lose the Scottish pip contract and if so, does anyone know exactly when?
I have a assessment due soon i'd like to know.Owed out = lots. :cool:0
