    You did actually say

What do you mean they never ask?

    Its like pulling teeth here

    The sheet says

DATE, JOB TITLE, COMPANY NAME, CONTACT DETAILS, WHERE DID YOU SEE THE JOB ADVERTISED, METHOD OF APPLICATION AND DATE WHEN YOU WILL FOLLOW UP

So let me think...............do you think this sheet if for spec letters or job applications?

They have no need to ask as they are JOB APPLICATIONS and they all say that and the spec sheet I have says this as headings

Date, Company (name and address), what they do ie industry, who I emailed and then did I hear back

Since this sheet says nothing about a job advert I am guessing any fool knows its spec letters
never had a sheet with a where did you see it advertised box.

no, neither advertised or spec is specified.
So your JSA says nothing at all about applying for real job adverts or spec letters?

no, neither advertised or spec is specified.

On your jsag what number is in the box on the top right that states write to at least x employers per week? I believe that is the number of spec letters you should be sending however my adviser said that job applicators count in that figure as well. I have learnt via these boards that I was told incorrectly.

You may not like me (on here) but I seriously think people get the !!!! they deserve from the JC. Keep going on about how bad the advisors are and they are going to be sanctioned. Anyone wonder why?
I don't like or dislike anyone on here, because its a mostly anon online forum.

I agree people deserve the !!!! they get from JC, not sure why you'd think otherwise?

where does it say some of the jobs a person applies for must be advertised jobs? sometimes they give people a log sheet that does not require them to specify whether it was a spec app or not. you just list the job, employer and date applied.

Well surely its obvious its job seekers allowance, so its pretty clear you need to be applying for jobs.

I cant believe anybody would apply for spec ones only and not fill out the applied for jobs.

i know someone who applied for 6 jobs and the on spec ones and they lied and said he hadnt applied for any advertised vacancies. Luckily he could prove he had. What is going on with the jc are they lying or are they incompetent.

So because you know someone who filled out their log sheet incorrectly, we are incompetent er ok lol
  • i didnt say anything about doing the minimum. i said the minimum is all that can be required of a person. and for your information i usually get told i do more than enough.

Someone would have to be quite stupid to really see that type of post isn't giving an impression of doing the minimum and being very negative.

well the debated point isnt whether its right to just do specs. it is whether there is a rule saying only applying for specs equals sanction.

no there isnt a rule but if somebody is only do spec applications and nothing else, are they giving themselves the best chance of find work? No, so yes that equals a sanction.
