So since you are now up for not applying for enough do you think that was true?My advisor did say you didnt have to look on xmas day. Who knows these days who is right. There are so many lies around and mistakes.
Take someone's word for it or use some gumption and continue to look for work regardless of day? We’ve had to remove your signature. Please check the Forum Rules if you’re unsure why it’s been removed and, if still unsure, email forumteam@moneysavingexpert.com0 -
the log sheets you get dont require you to specify if a job app was a spec or not. if you were legally required to do both then there would be a space to specify.sensibleadvice wrote: »You realise, as the poster says its common sense to actually try to apply for real jobs?
Do you stop applying when you've reached your quota despite the fact there may be opportunities that you subsequently miss out on?
if someone stops applying once they reach their quota as you put it then it is none of your or the jobcentres business. has the person fulfilled whats expected is what they look for. anything they do after that is between them and the employers.0 -
Wheras some think a job seeker should have nothing but free time. Some even think calling an allowance for job seeking jobseeking allowance is propaganda.donnajunkie wrote: »they choose to spend all day xmas day jobsearching and think its wrong of anyone who doesnt. they think a jobseeker shouldnt have any free time at all.0 -
I keep my spec letters on a sheet of A4 paper that's on going. All the jobs I apply for are on the sheets they give me.donnajunkie wrote: »the log sheets you get dont require you to specify if a job app was a spec or not. if you were legally required to do both then there would be a space to specify.

if its a spec its still a job application. again i am not bigging up just doing specs. i am simply pointing out there is nothing to say you must apply for advertised jobs. you simply must apply for jobs. not once when i show my evidence do i get asked are these advertised jobs or are they specs. So any old idiot can just say 'oh I didn't know I actually had to apply for jobs'?
If anyone is seriously saying this then they will have no place in the work place as they really must be that dim!
The lowest amount of jobs I applied for in a 7 day period was the week of Xmas 2012 and that was 13! I still however managed to apply for 34 over the 14 day period and 10 spec letters.
I do not believe there is not one person who really needs telling to apply for a job!0 -
look its fine if you choose to do that its a free country. to think it should be an obligation is wrong.Yes THEY chose to job search on Xmas day as its a normal day for job searching and should not be treated any differently just likes Gay guys post once about job seeking at the sodding weekends!0 -
Another 'do the very minimum to keep a grasp on benefits' post. Such minimum in, moan at every conceivable thing along the way making sad excuses types posts are indicative of types who don't want to work.donnajunkie wrote: »the log sheets you get dont require you to specify if a job app was a spec or not. if you were legally required to do both then there would be a space to specify.

Clearly you didn't grasp the point a jobseeker might actually WANT to find a job.0 -
yes i know what they said.sensibleadvice wrote: »You interpreted "Sticking reasonably within your guideline.... but they couldn't match you to a 9 till 5." as mandated?0 -
And not once have you evidenced it matters to you.donnajunkie wrote: »if its a spec its still a job application. again i am not bigging up just doing specs. i am simply pointing out there is nothing to say you must apply for advertised jobs. you simply must apply for jobs. not once when i show my evidence do i get asked are these advertised jobs or are they specs.0 -
So you think if you apply for ZERO advertised jobs for the next month that's ok?donnajunkie wrote: »if its a spec its still a job application. again i am not bigging up just doing specs. i am simply pointing out there is nothing to say you must apply for advertised jobs. you simply must apply for jobs. not once when i show my evidence do i get asked are these advertised jobs or are they specs.
