So hang on your just THOUGHT that but didn't say it out loud to them? The bit where you said you could have logged off? I don't think anything should be logging off anything before the JC have gone home for the day (5pm).
Yes I would have loved them as I would have asked them to only call my mobile and that I sleep with it.
Then I would have asked them to show me where it says that if the JC call on the home phone and you are in the loo and have no voicemail you get a sanction!!!
So you didn't learn anything but did you speak up??
bad idea giving them a mobile number. what if the battery dies? what if you dont hear it ring? etc. its harder to find an acceptable reason from their point of view if you dont answer. with a home phone you can simply say you werent in and theres nothing in the rules saying people cant leave the house during the day.
also to be fair they didnt specify home phone they simply said if we phone you. they didnt rule it out either though. there was no this only applies to mobile users or anything like that.
i forgot the other pet peeve of yours. they said there is no toilet access and that if you need the toilet you must use the pubs toilet around the corner.0 -

No don't wait for someone else to speak up when you know they can not do that re the phone.
The same goes for home or mobile if you don't hear it ring. I have no voicemail on my mobile as it costs and I have only payg with 0.00p on my phone and the JC only ever call me on the home phone and I have it with me always and never away from my lap top longer than a loo break or a trip to the JC
No good asking me about the doctors apt or an interview, why didn't you ask them?
If they say it get it in WRITING!!!!!
As no one said anything they are going to think RESULT we are dealing with a bunch of idiots.
and at that point I would have put my hand up and said I have a period and can I go to the looWe’ve had to remove your signature. Please check the Forum Rules if you’re unsure why it’s been removed and, if still unsure, email forumteam@moneysavingexpert.com0 -

you would struggle to convince them you didnt hear it ring. with a home phone you can say you were out. with a mobile people usually have them with them all of the time so its harder to find a reason they will accept.
i couldnt care less whether they thought i was an idiot or not.
lol, yeah i thought if i was ever on a bad course in the jobcentre that required us to be there all day i would be going to the toilet alot.0 -
