That is true however there are some advisors who will react the way red devil describes because thats the way they are. You meet these types in all walks of life. Some advisors turn on the nastiness before you even open your mouth - it's in their attitude! I've sat there waiting to sign on and the way they talk to some people is outrageous.
I must say though, all but one of my advisors so far have been quite reasonable and some very friendly. They know it's not that easy and as long as you can tell them what they want to hear they won't be too bad.
Having said that, I do more than my JSAg requires and I worry every signing day about getting a 'nasty' seemingly intent on hitting me with a sanction.0 -
You expect means you dont know anything about individual jobcentres and staff and people on here at all so you cant comment.
The post is for experiences after the work programme.
The advisors are hit squad material they are especially taken on for the role its a fact. Theu are often trying to lord it over people who even have held better jobs than them.
To be fair, many of the advisors were at JCP before, and their job has had to change, regardless of how they feel about it. Their appraisals, targets, and pressure from above means they have become little more than box tickers.
They are as much having to obey the instructions from government as you are.
Advisors and claimants reflect wider society anyway - some are nice, some are a combination and some are just bloody awful!
I know when I worked there that you do get weary of abuse and stropping from those you are actually trying to assist - which is why I left the job in the end.
LinYou can tell a lot about a woman by her hands..........for instance, if they are placed around your throat, she's probably slightly upset.0 -

Truecstix. My advisor layed into me on the first meeting. You could tell he was annoyed because i hadnt found a job on the WP.
He more or less implied that it was a favour if the gvt paid you after the work programme.
I do know one person who signed off because of the hassle and nastiness from this guy. That is what they hope?
work programme was fine advisor was nice.:footie:0 -

Why would i lie. Why are you on here your post is pointless.:footie:0 -

Well, the government want people to sign off - whoever the reason, it makes no odds to them, and the only concern is actual numbers on JSA.
But, JCP advisors ARE public servants, and benefits are a statutory right, so, at the end of the day, if you are being treated unfairly, despite fulfilling all of your obligations, there is a formal complaints procedure, and you should follow it (the CAB can point you in the direction of getting help with that process, if you feel unsure).

I complained about my advisors incompetence to the manager but he keeps it in house and covers for him.
My district manager does not reply to emails.:footie:0 -
Then send a letter by normal post, and if that doesn't have effect, go to your MP.
There is an established complaints procedure, and government departments are supposed to be abiding by it.
As I said, the CAB can help with all this.

It's your prerogative to hold the view you choose, however ill informed it may be.
All that said I've re-read #2103 to check I've not ruled out valid critique and the post stands.0
