You think employed people's experience of how they got there or supported others to get there wouldn't help someone who wants to get there and has failed long term to do so?0 -
The presentation was for those unemployed on the work programme and it never said 'do some of you have a drink problem'
It was 'have you cut down on your alcohol consumption' meaning to me they are talking to all of us.
Annoyed as they like a lot of people on here think we must all be like that.
Films like that are meant to help people get a job? I'd like to know how?
Why should it affect you if it's not relevant?0 -
12 months for your first question. Although I believe someone could be referred at any time.
Sometimes help such as certain courses or starting a business can take time / and or money. Writing a business plan for example and trying to raise finance for a particular venture could easily take more than a year by which time one is on the WP.
What you are doing is lumping all jobseekers in one pot and being very judgmental. Every case is different.
Perhaps you need to do some research, esp into the way the WP works before you comment any further on the issue.
Find a basic job and do the business plan alongside work. That would also provide a better chance or raising finance.
You've confused 'some' and 'others' with 'all'0 -

Lack of jobs perhaps.0 -

So what do you suggest if the WP is ALSO unsuccessful? TWO more years of fruitlessness?
Applying for ANY job? So should someone who cannot drive apply for a job as a courier?
Again, what you are doing is some pretty lazy generalising.0 -
Do you think you are not left to your own devices also when on the WP?0
