No, I think that it gives precisely the right impression of people such as that poster. "It's not my fault, someone else needs to find me a job" is their pretty much constant refrain.

Fortunately it sounds as though the system is finding them out, and they'll see their benefits being cut before too long.

We know that most unemployed are not like he or she is.

The jobcentre does nothing to help you find work its all about cutting your money. I disagree with the term advisor.

cutting benefits is not the answer creating more jobs is.

If you are struggling to get work and people say your CV is 'fine' then its time to mix up your CV and use a non conventional style. The conventional style is boring and identical to 95% of all other applicants.

People do need to stop relying on the job centre get them work. No matter what you think and what political rhetoric say that really isn't there job and they arent efficient at it.

Yes they do as it is easier to get a job if you are still employed or only been unemployed for a few months - that is not me making excuses that is a fact. Whilst it is not impossible for an unemployed person to get a job it gets harder the longer you have been unemployed.

This explains why it is harder for the long term unemployed to find work due to the above attitude. I am not getting at you, you are not the first and won't be the last to hold this opinion. I just keep hoping that some are willing to give others a chance.

Agree the longer unemployed the worse it gets.

Even in the absence of any bias you'd expect long-term claimants to be less successful because those who are good candidates never get to the point of being long-term unemployed.

Through this you are not helped by peope such as some of the other posters on here, who paint such a terrible picture of some long-term unemployed.

I'm sorry that some people tar you all with the same brush.

There are loads of jobs. If you can't find one, please stop blaming others, and work out how to make yourself employable.

Sanctioning you is a brilliant way to get you to do this.

They eould set you up with interviews once upon a time. They do nothing but bash you now and sanction you. Attack on the poor. Its digusting.

That is very true and it highlights one of my issues/potential problems I need to resolve. I have been unemployed for 6 years BUT I have not been looking for work all that time (there is a big difference) I gave up my job to become a full time mum my ex earnt a good wage to cover us, we didn't claim any benefits. He left, I now need to find work.

As far as a potential employer is concerned they see from my CV I haven't worked in 6 years, they may be assuming I have been looking for work for that long  maybe I need to find a way to somehow put on the CV how long I have been job searching - that is the kind of individual help I need from the JC what to do in this situation.

They dont care, they lump everyone together and great everyone the same but people are different even though they are out of work.

i understand your position its very hard for people who have taken a break from work to card for children to get back into work.

Perhaps because it assumes ALL jobseekers have issues with basic education. Even though those that may have a degree.

In reality, a bog standard box ticking excercise that makes it look like the WP provider is actually doing something to justify their position rather than offering genuine help, advice and direction.
it is every course a person gets sent on. i wouldnt put blame solely on the wp providers. in fact it serves as a way of telling you whether the course is worth something or not because any good training course i have done in the past has never required people to do them. every course that has required it has been a waste of time.
